“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1” will be available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, featuring a hi-definition, a standard definition, and a digital copy of the film, for $35.99 and on Single Disc DVD in widescreen format for $28.98 SRP.*

Weird about only 1-disc.

The 1-7pt1 gift set also comes out on the 15th. Are special features on those versions the same as the single movie release typically? Or are they a little slimmed down?

Oh, and release date for the UK is April 11.

Maybe this is just for the US since Bluray is more popular there - I hope so anyway. Didn't the BFFC say that the UK DVD at least was getting more things?

All my DVDs are 2 Disc and I don't have a Bluray player - I am hoping that WB release 2 Disc version for both Dh1 and DH2 just so I have the set!

According to the picture on UK amazon, it says "2 disc special edition" on the DVD cover so looks like the UK version will have 2 discs. I think you're right about blu-ray not really having caught on here yet, so I hope the UK version has more than just deleted scenes because some of the blu-ray features I've seen look awesome but I don't have a blu-ray player

Yes, well, they are gearing more of the specials towards the higher technology it appears. The Blue ray package contains DVD and digital? Does that mean that the content is the same on each disc in the package? What does that mean?

It's weird that they are releasing the DVD/BluRay on the 15th of April, which is a Friday. I always thought that movies/DVDs and music released on Tuesdays in the US. Why would they release it on a Friday?

The only Blu-Ray player I have is in my computer, but I think it's still worth buying the Blu-Ray for the special features, as opposed to getting the DVD with, well, nothing. Plus, it'll be looking forward towards the future, it's only a few dollars more, and it has the DVD anyways.

I could be wrong, but I'm guessing the digital copy will only have the movie on it, so a person can load it onto their ipod or whatever they use.

The back cover looks absolutely awful, if I may say so myself. It says nothing about Harry Potter and is bland. IMHO, these DVDs have gotten too commercial.
