Re: Quote Me On This: The Best Quotes From the Harry Potter Books
“After all this time?”
“Always,” said Snape. This answer holds so much emotion and reveals so much about Snape and about the whole plot that it definitely made an impact on me. |

Re: Quote Me On This: The Best Quotes From the Harry Potter Books
"I do feel sorry," said Draco Malfoy, one Potions class, ''for all those people who have to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas because they're not wanted at home"
''What would you know about it, Weasley, you couldn't afford the handle,'' Malfoy snapped back. ''I suppose you and your brothers have to save up, twig by twig.'' "You know how I think they choose people for the Gryffindor team?'' said Malfoy a few minutes later, as Snape awarded Hufflepuff another penalty for no reason at all. ''It's people they feel sorry for. See, there's Potter, who's got no parents, then there's the Weasleys, who've got no money – you should be on the team, Longbottom, you've got no brains.'' ''AAAAAAAAAAARGH!'' Malfoy let out a terrible scream and bolted… ~PS/SS ''Weasley would like a signed photo, Potter,'' smirked Malfoy. ''It'd be worth more than his family's whole house.'' On the Nimbus Two Thousand and Ones: ''Good, aren't they?' said Malfoy smoothly. ''But perhaps the Gryffindor team will be able to raise some gold and get new brooms, too. You could raffle off those Cleansweep Fives, I expect a museum would bid for them,'' ~CoS ' "I'm dying!' Malfoy yelled, as the class panicked. ''I'm dying, look at me! It's killed me!'' ~PoA |

On Norbert:
"He's jus' a baby, after all!" said Hagrid. The baby banged its tail on the wall, making the windows rattle.

Re: Quote Me On This: The Best Quotes From the Harry Potter Books
"And now, Harry, let us step out into the night and pursue that flighty temptress, adventure."
-Dumbledore, HBP "It is a long time since my last visit," said Dumbledore, peering down his crooked nose at Uncle Vernon. "I must say, your agapanthus are flourishing." -Dumbledore, HBP "No," agreed Dumbledore. "You are a braver man by far than Igor Karkaroff. You know, I sometimes think we Sort too soon...." -Dumbledore, DH "Don't be shocked, Severus. How many men and women have you watched die?" Re: Quote Me On This: The Best Quotes From the Harry Potter Books
Snape had arrived. The Slytherins clamored to give their explanations; Snape pointed a long yellow finger at Malfoy and said, "Explain."
"Potter attacked me, sir …" "We attacked each other at the same time!" Harry shouted. "… and he hit Goyle… look…" Snape examined Goyle, whose face now resembled something that would have been at home in a book on poisonous fungi. "Hospital wing, Goyle," Snape said calmly. "Malfoy got Hermione!" Ron said. "Look!" He forced Hermione to show Snape her teeth - she was doing her best to hide them with her hands, though this was difficult as they had now grown down past her collar. Pansy Parkinson and the other Slytherin girls were doubled up with silent giggles, pointing at Hermione from behind Snape's back. Snape looked coldly at Hermione, then said, "I see no difference". ![]() (Snape - Globet of Fire)

My personal favorite:
“He accused me of being ‘Dumbledore’s man through and through.’” “How very rude of him.” “I told him I was.”

Re: Quote Me On This: The Best Quotes From the Harry Potter Books
"OI! There's a war going on here!"
Harry "Dobby never meant to kill! Dobby only meant to maim, or seriously injure!" Dobby “I’ll make Goyle do lines, it’ll kill him, he hates writing,” said Ron happily. He lowered his voice to Goyle’s low grunt and, screwing up his face in a look of pained concentration, mimed writing in midair. “I . . .must . . . not . . . look . . . like . . . a . . . baboon’s . . . backside.” Ron “Longbottom, if brains were gold, you'd be poorer than Weasley, and that's saying something.” Draco "Percy wouldn't recognize a joke if it danced naked in front of him wearing Dobby's tea cozy." Ron "Excuse me, are you the imprint of a departed soul?" Ron "Always" Snape And pretty much every quote from Dumbledore and the Twins |

Re: Quote Me On This: The Best Quotes From the Harry Potter Books
A rarely-quoted section from GOF, "Rita Skeeter's Scoop" provides two of my favorite quotes:
"Of course we still want to know you!" Harry said, staring at Hagrid. "You don't think anything that Skeeter cow - sorry, Professor," he added quickly, looking at Dumbledore. "I have gone temporarily deaf and haven't any idea what you said, Harry," said Dumbledore, twiddling his thumbs and staring at the ceiling. ......... "'Really, Hagrid, if you are holding out for universal popularity, I'm afraid you will be in this cabin for a very long time,' said Dumbledore, now peering sternly over his half-moon spectacles. 'Not a week has passed since I became headmaster of this school when I haven't had at least one owl complaining about the way I run it. But what should I do? Barricade myself in my study and refuse to talk to anybody?'"

Re: Quote Me On This: The Best Quotes From the Harry Potter Books
I'm surprised this did not make Page One. It's my favorite too.
![]() Though "Would you like me to do it now? Or would you like a few moments to compose an epitaph?" is another great one. ![]()
