Да, это классно - побродить по Лондону. Всегда мечтал побывать на платформе 9 3/4 В принципе, наверное, где-нибудь можно обсудить, если сам тему откроешь. Попробуй где-нибудь на The Great Hall

Re: Russian

Hy Harryfreak, I took 2 years at UCLA. Though I remember a good deal. If you want to try Russian, this site, pointed out upthread is really cool, it takes Latin transliterations and turns them into Cyrillic:
http://www.translit.ru/

It turns "Privet!" into "Привет!" (Hi!)

Re: Russian

очень приятно встретить здесь людей, для которых русский родной. И еще очень приятно видеть, что иностранцы изучают его.

Мои родные языки - русский и украинский. Всю жизнь прожил в Украине

Re: Russian

I just started learning today. With time I hope to be able to pick up the basics. My friend and I want to learn it and hopefully we can eventually have small chat. I wish Russian as well as other languages were offered in school, we only have Spanish, French, and German here.

Re: Russian

I am starting to teach myself Russian before I start taking classes at my college this fall. I've found it immensely enjoyable and challenging at the same time.

Any tips on learning Russian effectively and getting fundamentals down? I'm trying to review the alphabet and vocabulary everyday but I'd like some input as well from you all.

Re: Russian

Hello, DJkeep! I'm glad you decided to learn Russian and that you find the process of learning enjoyable!

As one of the few people on this forum whose native language is Russian I'd be happy to help you however I can. I think you'll need plenty of patience and hard work - Russian is a tough language to learn. I'm not sure if I'll be able to provide you with any special tips. Commitment and daily practice are probably the most important things when you're trying to learn a new language. So, if you need practice or have any questions, I'll be here to help.

Re: Russian

привет! I'm currently doing my Russian translation homework and can't find the plural for student ("students") anywhere. I'm trying to translate 'our new Russian students are in the library'.

Currently I have...
наша новий русская судент в ъиълиотека...
right?! (asides from not having the right ending for students)

There is a T missing. студент. But with the plural I can't help you.

Re: Russian

In the nominative, the plural is:

студенты

It should be "Наши новые русские студенты в библиотеке".

Re: Russian

Привет! Меня зовут Bricta. Как дела? Я учу по-русскии в университете.

I don't know a whole lot yet, just some present tense conjugations and a few of the easier cases. Feel free to correct that last sentence, as I am sure I butchered it.

It's really awesome to have found some more people who speak it!
