Re: Futurama!

I asked earlier, but no one answered; when do the newer episodes start up?

Well the second movie will be released June 24, 2008 and so probably about two to three weeks after that then they will go on Comedy Central.

Re: Futurama!

At first, I wasn't a fan of Futurama when it came out on Fox, but then I discovered how cool this show really is when it started airing on Comedy Central. Now, I am a full-fledged Futurama fan. Bender is my favorite character ever.

Re: Futurama!

Did you watch it?

As a fan I am ashamed to admit I just picked it up today. I liked the beginning, though it did get a little slow. I thought the end was a little anticlimatic, actually I barely remember what happened. I probably have to watch it again to form a real review of the movie, but overall, I thought it was a little better than the first one. Still not on the level of the other seasons' episodes though.

The preview for Bender's Game looks pretty awesome though.

Re: Futurama!

Bender's Big Score was such a letdown for me. I had my hopes real high for it, I was waiting all year for it, and it was a slow-paced, uninteresting smörgåsbord of nods to characters from other episodes and confusing time-traveling sequences. It was so disappointing that I don't even know if I want to see the next movies...maybe if they show up on Comedy Central while I happen to be watching TV, I'll tune in, but otherwise, no. Ugh, I could've cried at how saddened I was...I've seen every Futurama episode about 3 times each, and they break my heart with these straight to DVD movies

Re: Futurama!

Why are people bagging the movies? I thought both so far have been great. The humour's as funny as ever, the plots as silly as ever, I'm really enjoying them. Can't wait for the next one.

Re: Futurama!

I've realy enjoyed the movies as well, and not just because it's incredibly great having Futurama back at all. Even if they haven't reached the heights of the best episodes of the series, Bender's Big Score and The Beast With A Billion Backs were pretty entertaining, strange, sick rides - and the third in the series, Bender's Game, comes out on DVD, and for the first time on Blu-ray Disc, tomorrow.

Re: Futurama!

I can't wait for the wild green yonder!

I preferred Bender's Big Score to the others, and Bender's Game to Beast with a billion backs, but I have enjoyed all three really

Re: Futurama!

Well, if this doesn't bring some more traffic to this thread nothing will. Here follows the best news I've seen for television in some time: clicky clicky

Re: Futurama!

That has got to be the best news I've heard in ages! I cannot wait. I literally. Cannot. Wait.

And this is definitely true, yes? Just don't wanna get my hopes up just to have them dashed...

Re: Futurama!

It's true as far as I can tell; that's from Michael Ausiello, and he's not usually wrong about this sort of announcement (I mean, he doesn't often get to make this sort of announcement, but you know what I mean). Plus, there were rumors last week that I didn't post because...well, the articles made an explicit point of noting that they were unconfirmed. This seems like the real deal. It is hard to finally believe, though.

Re: Futurama!

Well I borrowed that link and put it up on the "Addicted to Futurama" community they have on Facebook, and they are treating it as official- made an announcement about it and everything...

Just to confirm- I didn't say it was true- just provided them with the link. They seemed happy enough though...

Re: Futurama!

I've since seen stories on The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and a press release from Comedy Central themselves.

Re: Futurama!

I think that pretty much proves it then...

But still...even when something like this is confirmed, sometimes it goes wrong...

Re: Futurama!

SO THERE IS GOING TO BE NEW EPISODES?????????????

I love this show my brother has two seasons on DVD and he also got one movie...it is the one with some creature from a different world...love it..but watched it too much because of my brother

But new episodes sounds good...as long as it doesn't end up like Family Guy..where some new episodes are kinda.....Or be kind of dull like The Simpsons!!!!!

I hope Zapp Brannigan is in it more...he always amused me..even though he is gross

Re: Futurama!

^ yep.

comedy central ordered a full 26 episode run.

however the show retains the right to air on a national network before it hits syndication.

therefore it's possible that fox will be airing new episodes when they arrive.

Re: Futurama!

Finally! After all this time. I can't wait for the episodes to start up. Now if only the same could happen with King of the Hill...
