Re: The Harry Potter Movie Marathon Thread

Just a month ago I took my friend through HP boot camp...we managed to sit through the first 4 in a row (Continuing with 5 the next day.) It's very interesting to do.

POA has kind of the same 'feel' as the first 2 but is soooo different. GOF feels like it belongs in a different series It was fun watching them with a non book fan though (And I plan on doing it with more of them soon) You'd be SUPRISED how many things they don't pick up on

It's fun to do though. I agree that DH will be a LONG one when the time comes. I just told another friend just the other day that he will be going through HP bootcamp one day so I'll post after it happens.

lol HP bootcamp? that sounds awesome! i might have to steal that idea...even some of my friends who have read the books don't catch on to everything...(but they're not obsessed like i am lol)

Listen Grandma I love you but you're not doing yourself any favors but resisting. Just enjoy the books and I'll untie you.

Fury, if you have an older tv and RF modulator would help with that problem. My tv is form 1989 and still kicking though I use my laptop more than anything else.

I'm going to go for the audio books my last week in school, just days and days of Potter and UEFA champions league, and beer.

Re: The Harry Potter Movie Marathon Thread

I'm down, all I'll have to do is fake sick one day.

But seriously I'm sure I could find time, maybe this weekend... Good Idea though I'm sure the movies will have more of a impact this way. When we should really do this is when the movies are all over. I can only imagine how long that would take though...

I think I might be free on Thursday, so look forward to my report here either Thursday night or Friday.

Glad to hear about that, ArryGrotter! I look forward to hearing how it went!

Go for it, BenGerman! It's Harry Potter.

Don't forget the extended editions might be out by that time too.

So add another 8 hours maybe...depends on how much they add to these films...

Haha... So I can we can safely say it will never happen in one day? Oh well Even 2 days would be quite the accomplishment.

I lay down the challenge here and now for someone to watch the entire series without pause. Bloodshot eyes, food and drink strewn about, muttering, "Wingardium Leviosa."

Re: The Harry Potter Movie Marathon Thread

It's lunch break Watched PS, CoS and part of PoA.

Difference between films: PS and CoS are almost the same mould and PoA is kind of different.

The good thing about watching this way is you notice all the links. Can't wait for OotP, that has tons of links.

Grandmas only fall asleep once (during the flying keys)

Restarting soon

Re: The Harry Potter Movie Marathon Thread

Well, I don't know how old your Grandma is, but I'm 61 and I've done the first 4 one after the other. The day I was going to try 5, life intervened, and I only got to do 3. Bit of advice, though, plan to have 10-15 minutes between each for bathroom breaks and time to walk around (old bones get stiff from sitting still for long periods).

I like to see the characters go from being in awe at Hogwarts and the wizarding world to being confident and comfortable in it, since they now 'belong'. It's also nice to see them all grow up.

Wow way to go ArryGrotter. I tried to start today but got 2 movies through it and realized I had Hw to do, so that didn't work out well. Maybe sometime this weekend though, because I am interested to see how they flow together, plus, I would like to just sit back and relax one day. But anyways Props ArryGrotter, keep it going!

Re: The Harry Potter Movie Marathon Thread

Oooh, I've been planning an HP marathon with some friends for the summer. I can't risk doing this during the next two months of school otherwise I will fail something.

But I did the marathon before GoF came out, but that wasn't so hard, considering it was only three movies, compared to five. Good luck to anyone doing it! I'll be buying a pack of Coca Cola to make sure I don't fall asleep when I attempt it. I'm doing a Lord of the Rings marathon this summer as well, haha.

Hah, when all eight movies are out... wow. That will be killer, but I'll be tempted to try it.
