Well, I'm not sure... It is a while since I read the first books, but I think maybe he is a very good actor and couls pretend he had never met Artemis before. Hey, wait, it wasn't the young Arty he met, it was the soon-fifteen-year Arty, wasn't it? Now I get confused again, I hope Colfer write another book where we get to know a bit more about that. Maybe someone went back in time and fixed his memory. (Does that work on the People?)

I think it should...

Well, most people don't bother with a really scientific viewing of time travel, WAY too complicated, and you never know, because no one's ever done it. One of the theories that you create alternate universes by changing time

well, that or a paradox and then you end up destroying the universe

Such as the Grandfather Paradox. You go back in time, and kill your grandad. This means that you don't exist. But then, if you don't exist, how can you go back and kill your grandad?

You know, I don't care wether people think time is a circle, or a straight line, or a wibly-wobly ball of timey-wimey stuff, it thoroughly confuses me when it's talked about like this.

I just finished The Time Paradox and I really enjoyed it.

Spoiler: show
The twins were absolutely adorable and it was interesting to see the younger, more ruthless Artemis again.

I was disappointed at first to find that Nathaniel Parker hadn't read the Time Paradox. Enn Reitel's performance isn't very good, especially when you compare it to Nathanial Parker's. Reitel's voices don't suit the characters, particularly Butler and Foaly. And he's not very good with accents either. That's one thing I love about Nathaniel Parker, the fact that his accents are spot on.

I have since found out that Nathaniel Parker has recorded the Time Paradox, and it will be released in the next month or so.

I so agree. I actually got the CD version from the library and didn't make it through the first disk. I took it back and got the book. I will get the Parker version though. Thanks for the info.

With the pale pointed face and rich kid attitude you probably had Draco in your mind

My picture of Artemis is just like the one I had for young Tom Riddle, except Arty looks more bussiness-like!

Re: Artemis Fowl Thread

I imagine him to be kind of like young Tom Riddle too, but so much cuter with the whole rich kid and evil attitude all balled up in one . Anyone who's a little kid is categorized as cute for me . He'd probably order me assassinated if I tried to pinch his cheeks though

Re: Artemis Fowl Thread

My favorite parts are definitely with the younger, more evil-y Arty. I fell in love with that character in the first book. I enjoyed the Time Paradox, but my favorite is still the original.

Eoin Colfer always does a nice job of setting things up for the next novel because you just want to know what adventures happen next. However, I was slightly disappointed with a couple of things.
Spoiler: show
I was really looking forward to an Artemis with magic but just using it to subdue his parents and a small attempt at healing his mother before it fizzled out was a bit disappointing. Also, I was hoping for more elaborate ways of explaining Artemis's three year departure without having grown any older instead of just messmerizing his parents.

But overall I really did enjoy the book.

yeah, that definitely bothered me. You'd think he would come up with a better excuse being a boy genius if he thought long enough. Even i could and my iq is probably half of arty's.

I'm half way through the first book right now and I am really liking it. The book is a little too fantasy filled for my taste, though.

Re: Artemis Fowl Thread

i thought it was more scifi than fantasy, basically fairies use technology, so just like your basic alien book i guess.
