The ONLY things I dislike, are twangy whiny country, and stupid violent "gangsta rap".

Mine is wizard rock! I know I'm a dork, but I just love the whole wizard rock community. Not everyone in wizard rock is that good of a musician, but it doesn't matter. Take Harry and the Potters, for instance. They're good musicians, but they're not great. It doesn't matter, though, because they put so much energy into their concerts and they really talk with the fans. It's just great!

I love Rock N' Roll. Im into oldies stuff like AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, The Who and Guns N' Roses. Don't really listen to anything new, to me it just isn't as good as it used to be.

I adore Apocalyptica and Nightwish. Also a big fan of Epica (love Simone Simons), Nirvana and Metallica. I quite like Evanescence, but it's not really goth, is it? More pop-rock with a few gothic and metal elements thrown in.

A couple of my housemates said Simone Simons/Epica sounds just like Amy Lee/Evanescence and I got really offended, lol. I went of into this rant about how, just because they're both mezzo-sopranos, doesn't mean they aren't very different, blah blah blah.

So few of my friends have similar music tastes to me that I get really excited when I meet people who like the same bands as me. I am converting my brother to the metal way - I've got him on Apocalyptica and Týr, and I'll probably start working on Nightwish and Metallica next.

When I went to the pub with a coursemate and found she was into Lacuna Coil I was so pleased to find someone else who had heard of them, let alone liked them (she was goth though, so it wasn't that surprising). I ended up moving in with her and her boyfriend, who were both into metal/goth/rock, which was cool. But there were problems with the other housemate, so he moved out after one term and me and this girl moved out at the end of the year. Now most of my new housemates don't have a clue, although one of them has at least heard of Nightwish and Within Temptation (although personally I'm not that big on WT, they're quite good, but don't really do it for me).

I listen to all genres of music. I know a lot of people say that, but with me its true. I've got everything from the country tunes your grandparents listened to when they were our ages to death metal to orchestral.

I really, really love techno music and prog rock ATM but it'll change, it always does.

My favorite genre of music would have to be rock, all of it. I do like the other genras but I don't particuarly like rap, except for maybe a hand full of songs. But the reason because of that is that rap has only one catigory, rock however has many. For examples there is alternitive rock, hard rock, soft rock, oldies, metal and heavy metal, punk rock, and etc. And along with all the different catigory's come with a different kinds of songs that will basically fit into everyones personality. In conclusion rock rules.

One thing I noticed about the folk in Ireland is they all seem to like all types of music, look on most bebos and you'll see people liking everything. I lived in Brussels which had many many nationalities in it, from the people I know I got the following generalities:
French-Rap(biggest market after US)
Dutch-techno/oi!
German-techno/black metal
Spainish-ska
Italian-RnB
Greeks-metal(black/death/heavy etc), stoner rock

That's purely based on the people I knew mind.
