Re: WOMBAT test part three

Spoiler: show
For Milicent Bagnold, I put "had the night with the most number of broken Statute of Secrecy cases" because its referring to the night Voldemort was destroyed in 1981, and she was minister then.

Do we NEED spoiler tags here? Can't we have a question by question discussion?

I didn't chose that one, because I just thought it could be any random body. I just didn't feel that it could be since it would limit the number of inferi and there were a lot in the lake. So, for Voldy to make an army of inferi he would have to have A LOT of people killed with dark magic. I just think it can be any random body and that there is a dark curse to make it happen (yuck). I could be wrong though.
Well actually there is canon for this as
Spoiler: show
Dumbldore tells Harry that Voldemort killed an army worth of inferi in HBP early on

Re: WOMBAT test part three

What about this set of matching

Spoiler: show
Between the different ministers and how they left office. How were we suppose to know that? I mean Fudge, was obvivous. But, I don't know how we were suppose to know all the other ones. I just kind of randomly guessed. However, I thought there may be clues in the names of the people, but I couldn't figure out what.

Re: WOMBAT test part three

I don't remember the first WOMBAT so well but that one was so much better than the second one. There were some really good questions.

Guess I got that questiong wrong. I thought it just meant that he made an army of inferi, but now I see it the other way.

Yeah, can we take the spolier tags off?

I don't think we need spoiler tags in here.

I know, I wanted to do that as well. But, my lexicon takes so long that I was afraid I wouldn't have enough time.

Okay no more tags right?

I think I put that one too, but it would have been by accident, I wish I could remember what I answered for some of them...

Re: WOMBAT test part three

There was negative marking on this test - meaning that if you answered wrong, points would be taken off, so it would be better to leave a question if you're feeling doubtful.

However, I didn't leave a single one!

I did the same thing, and for Artemisia, I put oldest wizangamot members leaving in protest, because she was the first woman to be Minister for magic - older folks must have objected.

Re: WOMBAT test part three

I feel even worse now - don´t want to have a T! Imagine I would fail the Wombat - no chapter titles or excerpts for me then!
I didn´t leave questions, too. But I should have done in the history part, I guess.

That the patronus strenght varies according to the type of animal? Hmm, it sounds unprobable, on the other hand Dumbledore has a phoenix which is a pretty powerful bird.
But Giants are not traditionally allied with Dark Arts, as we can see in the books. Karkus was quite fine with Hagrid and Olympe.

I think that most questions weren't impossible to deduct, after all, even the history ones.

I also think that in the minister question Artesmisia Lufkin would be the answer that several elder wizegamot wizards left, because she was the first woman to be minister.

But we know, have been told many times, that it depends on the power of the wizard and the strength of the happy memory. Which means that the type of animal must be irrelevant.

Re: WOMBAT test part three

For a better discussion, I typed in the questions of the first part, the other parts are following:

Part one: Magical History

1. In your opinion, which of the following one contributed MOST to the introduction of the international statute of wizarding Secrecy in 1692? Choose one.

2. Which of the following did NOT provoke one of the bloody goblin rebellions of the 17th and 18th centuries? Choose one.

3. Choose the Ministry of Magic decision that, in your estimation, had the MOST DAMAGING effect of the present day wizarding life.

4. In your opinion, which of the same Ministry of Magic decisions have had the BEST effect of the present day wizarding life.

5. Which of the following popular historical theories have now been proven to be TRUE? Choose the correct THREE.

6. Match the Minister for Magic with the most upheaval of his/her term in office, dates of which are marked.
