Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
The Weasley family mourning over Fred. Poor George there at his head . . .
Neville cutting of Nagaini's head--very Merry v. the Witch King in LOTR Wormtail's death . . . surprising, but fitting considering where that hand came from. Snape's death. What a horrible way to kill off a charcter like him, but again, fitting considering Voldemort. Harry going to him, and Snape's memories. Harry telling his son, Albus Severus, how brave Snape was.

The Silver Doe was my favourite - I actually threw the book away in disgust when Ron left so reading that chapter was wonderful.

Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
Prince's Tale was amazing
Silver Doe and Ron overcoming his jealously of Harry through all the books was just 'WOW'. Battle at Hogwarts and everything from when the Trio goes to the Hog's Head is fantastic. Neville owning Nagini was the best as well. Oh, and Harry's 'I'm about to die' was heart-wrenching and a great moment. And FINALLY, Crabbe...Crabbe...eh, doing an amazing curse, messing it up, killing himself and destroying a Horcrux was 'LOL' and 'Wow, Crabbe...knew THAT?!'

Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
The end scenes with Harry accepting death had me in floods of tears. I really began to believe he would die! The way he fearlessly accepted death was so moving -- and when he resurrected his deceased family & friends, well I couldn't stop the tears then!
I also loved the scene Ron & Hermione kissed in. And also... I thought the scene in which Ron rescued Harry and the sword of Gryffindor was so poignant. Showed the strength of their friendship.

Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
a great many!
- Pottercast. I loved the spirit of that enterprise, the will to maintain however little true liberty one can still cling to, risking their lives only to tell the truth - Neville when meeting the trio again, scarred, but more self-confident and strong than we have ever seen him. I was so proud of my little Neville! - the Malfoys running through the castle frantically searching their son - the doe. Heck, the silver doe - that was the moment when I was absolutely sure at last that Severus had NOT deserted. And I loved the scene as such, the mirroring. The Patronus is a shield charm - this shield delivers the sword for Harry. Together they can represent the knight (shield and sword) that Ron was in PS's chess game. Also - Ron spends the night in the wood, freezing, because he wants to find his friends and apologise before this moment. It reminds me of what Severus once did in front of the Gryffindor Common Room, only to apologise to his best friend. There's so much more I could add about this scene... ![]() do I have to mention it even? The Prince's Tale - loved it, sobbed my eyes out, had a glass of wine and a toast on Sev - 'Sev'! Draco not identifying the trio, though he surely would have recognised at least Ron and Hermione. It doesn't get any braver; for Draco's personal standards, that was an act of true heroism. And I like that the character doesn't make the complete U-turn, he stays consistent with the Draco we know. He is a man of words, not action (telling a lie about the trio's identity, instead of sneaking into the cellar and letting them go - that would have been TOTALLY out of character!) - Dudley not wanting to leave without Harry. I swallowed so hard. - Kreacher's story. That was the first time in the book that I cried. Many more to follow, but that one really lifted me off my feet. - anything with Auntie Muriel. Heck, even if she was only quoted by someone else. - the fact that Scrimgeour didn't give Harry away before his death ... I'll continue later ![]()

The Silver Doe, because I realized what it meant...
The Prince's Tale, and Snape's death... Harry walking to his death... Harry acknowledging Snape: "bravest man I ever knew"

Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
Yes, I cried! I've never, ever cried as hard over a book as I did over this book. I started crying when Fred died and I didn't stop until Harry was at King's Cross with Dumbledore.
I think the most gut wrenching scene was when Harry whispered to the Snitch "I am going to die." It sent shivers down my spine. It was just unbelievable because Harry always tried as hard as he could to live throughout the entire series. It was so unlike Harry, it made me cry really, really hard. The Snape-Lily scenes were probably the most heartbreaking. I felt so bad for Snape. He loved her so deeply and it showed so much that it made me hurt. The happiest scene was when Hermione kissed Ron. I'd been waiting for that for so long. I probably read it 4 times before I moved on...

I also really liked Hermione's moments of genius. I have never really liked her as much as Ron or Harry, but she was amazing in this book.

Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
I absolutely bawled when I read about Remus and Tonks
And I cried a bit during the scene with Harry and Hermione in the graveyard at Godric's Hollow Harry and Ginny's Sweet Valley High style kiss--loved it ![]() Neville destroying Nagini: legendary The memory of Lily and Petunia on the swings makes me feel sad: I dunno why I think it's just the whole fact that they were two little girls who had no idea of what lay ahead... I think my favourite bit was when Harry saw those muggle girls in bikinis in Sirius' bedroom ![]()

Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
I was crying through the whole chapter of "The Prince's Tale". And also at the end when Albus's middle name turned out to be Severus. I also cried a few times in between, but I've forgotten why so that's not particularly memorable.

Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
The scene where Dobby died and Harry bearied him.
When Ron left and what he went through destroying the Horcrux. Harry bearing Mad Eye's eye. Ron and Hermione's kiss. The Siver Doe and what it meant. Snapes memories were gut renching. The conversation between Harry and Dumbledore. The scene were Nagini comes out of Bafaldas' neck. The Hogwarts Battle. All the students turning around to defend Harry. Remus and Tonks having a baby and then dying. Fred's death was horrible. I cried so hard. When Harry visited his parents grave my heart bottomed out. When Harry said to the snitch "I am going to die", it sent chills down my spine.

Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
The scene of Dobby's funeral,
The realization that Snape wasnt evil, so sad considering his life When Harry was talking to the ghosts of his parents/friends (this one must be thought of through the perspective of everyone else) When Hagrid brings Harry out to the school and everyone sees that he is dead When the Hogwarts express leaving in the Epilogue(couldnt help of thinking of book 1 in this little moment) |

Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
For me the most memorable scene that just ripped me up, was when Harry returns to the Room of Requirement and finds everyone that he's ever known/impacted in his life there... even the world's biggest prat Percy showed up. I was a complete wreck after that scene, until the very end.

Re: The Most Memorable Scenes.
The scene that was most difficult for me to stop reading was the escape from Privet Drive. It was filled to the brim with action, and JKR's writing didn't let me miss anything. I could see Harry and Hagrid fighting off the Death Eaters, Hagrid pushing the purple button for the dragon fire, Harry falling, Hedwig being hit with Avada Kedavra, and, of course, Voldemort flying towards him. It was complete chaos, and it was written beautifully. The 'worst' part was when they were under the protection set around the Tonks' house. I intended to stop reading to go to sleep at that moment (2:30 a.m. - I'm not meant to stay up that late), but I had to find out what happened to Hagrid. It kept me reading. All in all - to write a scene with so much chaos with such description, and the reader doesn't get lost is an incredibly difficult feat.
Also, Harry's walk to his own death deeply touched me. I had an inkling that he would not die (I kept saying to myself, "85 more pages. There's still 85 more pages. If he dies now, there wouldn't be 85 pages." [Little did I know that the page count was actually changed to 759!]), but my arms were shaking uncontrollably, tears welled up in my eyes, and I had a sudden urge to stop reading. I cannot narrow it down to only a few scenes, the entire book was written superbly, but there are these other scenes that I must mention:
