I think Tom Cruise deleted it.

Re: SPOILERS: So, who has seen OotP?

I think that the film was brilliant, there were a few unnecessary moments but with Umbridge but I suppose that she was superfluous to the plot so the director must have wanted to impress this upon the audience.
Absolutely love Dumbledores Army, thought it was so cool, did anyone else find D Radcliffs lline about bread and butter abit weird?!!
The end scene was awesome, I do wish that it had been abit longer though and that the DA could have helped more with the actual OOTP, Sirius death was really quick and happened just when you were least expecting it, which is good ina way I suppose, but I just wish the fight scene could have gone on a bit longer. The possession scene was bloody brilliant, one part of the film that is expressed better than it is in the book, I was totally captivated throughout!! D Radcliff's acting skills have improved none stop, he was brilliant!.
They didnt do the argument between Ddore and Harry justice though, I knew they wouldnt, very annoying as I see it as a key scene in the book, not just in the revelation of the prophecy, but just in the way Harrys feeling after Sirius' death, its heart breaking in hte book, and I wanted it to have the same impact in the film, that was the main disappointment for me.

Just been to watch the film and I did enjoy it, definately not a patch on the books, but I didn't expect it to be. For what it was, it was a good watch, certainly worth the ticket price anyway.

Re: SPOILERS: So, who has seen OotP?

It was one of my favorite movies so far. I didn't feel it was nearly as rushed as the fourth movie and a lot of scenes made me laugh. I definitely hope to see it again soon.

Re: SPOILERS: So, who has seen OotP?

One of my favourite parts about the movie was the duel scene between the OotP and the Death Eaters. It wasn't exactly how I picutred it in my mind.

I never pictured that when people apparated in, they would have white or black smoke around them, or when they moved, they moved that quickly and had that smoke about them.

I believe that the director played a bit too heavily on that stereotype, but it did help to keep everyone seperate.

Re: SPOILERS: So, who has seen OotP?

I saw it in IMAX and the larger screen really added to the movie. I wouldn't recommend going for the 3D part though. The 3D did add some cool depth to the movie but nothing really jumped out at you like when you go to a regular IMAX 3D movie. It was also really cheesy when a giant green glasses image flashed to tell you to put your glasses on!

Plot wise the movie was really good. I wasn't expecting it to follow the book. The special effects were really cool as well. I really like the Voldemort and DD fight scene.

I have an IMAX near me, but they weren't showing it.

As for the film, I enjoyed the tone, as it brought the series back to basics after the campy, overblown spectacle that was GoF.

Re: Ginny's power in OOTP

I think they're just trying to involve her more. They need to show she exists in this movie because she plays such a huge role in the 6th movie.

I think it's an excellent way of bringer her up to the front lines because people have to see her as a worthy partner for Harry and the way they used her as practically an extra in the first four movies was certainly not doing it.
I agree. Slughorn included her in his group for a reason and that is becuase he knows she is a powerful witch and assumes she will be great. I think they are trying to slowly show a pattern of her becoming more powerful and therefore, catching Harry's eye.

I hope we see more of it in the HBP movie as well. I was really happy with the way Ginny's power was portrayed in OoTP. She was the first one to produce a patronus and then her two very powerful Reducto charms. Loved it!

Re: Ginny's power in OOTP

First off I would like to say that Ginny is HOT!!! The powers that she shows portrays her will and determination to be with Harry. Because if she can make Harry notice her that will make the rest of the "job" easier...

Re: Ginny's power in OOTP

I think that they tried to make people notice that Ginny is powerful without making the movie lenghty. Also, as her character is going to be more important in the HBP movie, they needed a start where they could make people believe that there was a chance that Harry might have noticed her.

Anyways, I loved the way it was shown in the fifth movie. Her Reducto was so powerful, everyone seemed kind of shocked. Her patronous was also the first one as well. It was kind of like killing two birds at the same time like katishere said.

Re: Ginny's power in OOTP

It's showing that Ginny is not a forceto be reckoned with and that she is an amazing witch. And the director and film producers had to somehow get Ginny more into the limelight and make her mre noticeable to the audience or else people will be a little confused when it gets to HBP.

Re: Ginny's power in OOTP

I agree with all the things you said. They made it easier to understand for the sake of the viewers who are non-readers. They need not lots of scenes to prove how gifted witch she is. Look, most of the peeps did notice her!

Though, I'm disappointed with all the important ones that was cut off and her lack of lines, I'm exceptionally happy with her reductos and all those jealous looks on Harry and CChang.

Like I said, they mixed the GoF and OotP book Ginny into the OotP film Ginny. They built their future romance up so well, at the same time, they have shown how much a powerhouse of magic Ginny is.

I love Ginny and Bonnie is perfect!

Re: Ginny's power in OOTP

The Movie Ginny certainly does have an edge on the Book Ginny, we knew she was powerful but in this she instaged the destruction of every other prophecy in the wizarding world.

Re: Ginny's power in OOTP

Wow, though she hasn't enough speaking lines, the scenes picked by the script writer to showcase her being a powerful witch - 1st in producing a patronus, 1st in doing the reducto spell, and the kick *** scene of reducto in the DOM, those I hope the non-readers had notice.

Ofcourse readers are expecting that from Ginny, though reducto is the spell she used and not the bat bogey hex. Hopefully, we'll see bbh in HBP.

Hey, her patronus is a horse, but that's nowhere in the books (HPB or DH). I guess, the production people called up Jo & inquire about it

Re: Ginny's power in OOTP

I hope so too. I want to see her bat-bogey hex. I even hope that they at least mention it when they got away from Malfoy and co. But nope, instead they have the puking pastilles line.

I think she never mentioned that Ginny's patronus is a horse or maybe she will have it on her encyclopedia. I believe each patronus has its own significance or symbolisms so she must explain those further.

Yeah, she's almost the first of everything in DA. That's why the peeps in the preview listed those as the scenes where Ginny stood out. And of course the Hall of Prophecies part! In the book, they all did it, but in the film, just Ginny!

Re: Ginny's power in OOTP

Given that Luna's Patronus in the film was a hare and Ron's was a small dog (a Jack Russell terrier according to Jo), I'm willing to bet that the information on whose Patronus was what came straight from Jo herself, David Yates and the production team know better than to mess around with the portrayal of things like that.

My guess is that she was comforting him over the loss of his godfather, Sirius. Just a simple act of kindness that proves to him that she's there for him as a friend.
