HBP video game

I saw the new preview of this on Yahoo, and it looks really good! It seems as though it might turn out better than OOTP. It also reminded me of COS during the dueling part with Lockhart. It also appears to have Quidditch involved, which will hopefully make it spectacular!

I am SO buying it for Nintendo Wii the day it comes out. I played the first three games on Playstation 2 and on PC, and i'm currently playing Order Of The Phoenix for Nintendo Wii, wich is a blast! The Nintendo Wii system is perfect for Harry Potter games, where the Wii Remote is Harry's wand.

I have an idea for the perfect Harry Potter game.

Right when you first load the game you create a character, name, appearance, personality, and house.

You go through Hogwarts classes like a normal student, you learn new spells, take practical exams, and you come to Hogwarts at the same time as Harry, so you either fight or join the Death Eaters in Deathly Hallows. Heck, you could even attack Snape and get detentions, and if you **** him off enough, he'll abuse you in classes.

It would be a perfect way to

a) Milk the Franchise

b) Simulate going to Hogwarts and being a wizard.

I agree with you. That pretty much is what's expected to be the Harry Potter MMORPG Warner Bros. is planning to release in the future.

The notion of creating a Harry Potter multi-player online role playing game is something that we've been discussing at Warner Bros. for a number of years and continue to explore. We are currently investigating the possibility of creating our own MMORPG but unfortunately do not have any further details to share at this time.

When you change country to Australia on the game site, the release date of November 14th conflicts with Winter 2008

They will probably focus alot on Harry's 'missions' maybe even on when Ron gets poisoned; you may have to hunt for a beazor stone. Probably the inferi will be obvious. Maybe you will have to persue Severus (not sure about that)

That's a shame that they don't have any more information. It sounds pretty awesome.
Something else that might be cool would be a version of the game where near the end you make the decision to join Voldemort or stay on the 'good side' (for lack of a better term lol). Kind of in a similar fashion to Jedi Academy if anyone here has played that.

Or maybe you could challenge voldemort and kill him and become the next dark wizard and rule the world (evil laugh) as for HBP has anyone thought about the attack on the burrow as a possibility in the game

I never thought of that being included. I suppose it would be, since it is helpful with the action in the game...

I hope that there's plans to make for the Mac. I also hope that there's multiplayer duels. Maybe online duels!

Some online duels would actually be pretty fun. Sometimes I feel like they could do so much more with dueling, so hopefully this game meets that expectation. As for the Wii version, they should definitely take advantage of Nintendo Wi-Fi for that. That would be sweet.
According to the Wikipedia page there will be a Mac version of the game.

There was for OoTP. I'm sure there will be, it's just a question of it will come out the same time as the others as games seem to come out later for mac.

But I think/hope they should really expand on dueling in the game. Multiplayer would be great. I think it'd be cool though if you could have duels in the game outside of story mode. Even if it's just player vs. cpu.

They could do loads more stuff with dueling to make the games more fun. i really cant wait for hbp the game i want to play quidditch again

So who really hated Gobstones and Exploding Snap with a passion in the OotP video game? Hopefully they won't include those again, and will stick more with Quidditch or something...
