A Harry Potter encyclopedia

I don't think the epilogue fulfilled much expectation and maybe DH wasn't the book to do that. Maybe what we need is the much touted encyclopedia that would give us all the information on the world Jo has created, plus much more information on the lives and events after Voldemort's demise. Should Jo make one and if so, what would you like to see include in it?

I'm going to be selfish and say I'd like two books ~ I'd love to see Hogwarts a History and I'd also like to see an encyclopaedia or compendium of the major and minor characters including the family trees and information about wizarding settlements like Godric's Hollow and Ottery St John Catchpole

Personally I'd like to see One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi by Phyllida Spore, in the same way that we got Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Or perhaps just a section of it, given the title.

It would be quite interesting to see that book on Pure-Blood Genealogy, too. Never gonna happen, but still .

I think an encyclopaedia would be wonderful, and I'd just like to see little bits and pieces on all the characters, but I think we won't get a book, but a lot of the info on Jo's site. I hope *crosses fingers*.

I don't care what it is, as long as it's a book related to Harry's world, I want to read it!

I'd love to see questions answered though about what happened in between those 19 years. If not, then I'd love just to know what careers they have, and what happened to all the important characters who weren't mentioned in the epilogue.

It seems as though the ending left us more questions than it did answers about what happened to all those who survived.

I think the epilogue was in there to quell down the shippers. I always hoped JKR would write an encylopedia or compendium to the series.

I'd love to read an encyclopedia if she would write it. I'd like some more information about the Marauders. But more or less if JKR is willing to offer anything more in the world of Harry Potter to us, I'd snatch it up in a heartbeat to read.

HAHA Hogwarts: A history would be so sick!! But yea, didn't Jo say something about maybe an encyclopedia coming out and all the proceeds would end up going to different foundations for underprivileged children and such? Or maybe I'm just stupid and I thought that

I second the encyclopedia and short story ideas. I'd personally like one big book that sorta combines the two. It could include everything JKR ever wrote on the side that somehow never made it into the main 7 books. Plus she could give us short stories about the MWPP days, the first war against Voldemort, stuff that happened with Neville and everyone at Hogwarts throughout DH, and of course what happened to other characters like Luna in the end. It'd be nice to see if Draco ever changed his ways, too (i think he must have changed even just a little bit after everything he's been through now). And I wanna know if Lucius had to go back to prison, too (I think he did, to finish his sentence).

Hogwarts: A History and an encyclopedia would be awsome! We Just have to keep our fingers crossed that Jo will take pity on all us fans and decide to be nice and write us at least one more. Though, I dont think we will ever be satisfied...

I'd definalty like an encyclopedia, and think it's the most likely of any Harry Potter related book we are likely to get, simply because all of the information is already there. Any short stories I don't think we will get for many a year, and Hogworts: A History would be a lot of work to write, so I doubt that any time soon.

And a true encyclopedia would be awesome - it could incorporate the futures of characters, like George, etc. That is, if she doesn't go back to Hogwarts through Albus Severus (or another kid).

For the millions in the midst of the seven stages of mourning for the end of the Harry Potter era, take heart.

In her first tell-all interview since the release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” J.K. Rowling told TODAY’s Meredith Vieira she "probably will" publish a Potter encyclopedia, promising many more details about her beloved characters and the fate of the wizarding world beyond the few clues provided in the seventh book’s epilogue.

“I suppose I have (started) because the raw material is all in my notes,” Rowling said.
