A Harry Potter encyclopedia

How can she write an encyclopedia as opposed to a regular chapter by chapter book? There are four founders. Will she write about how they met, how did they decide on a school to teach young children, the rules they came up with, etc. the Ministry of Magic, how potions and spells are made, information on a lot of people. Like in Pottermore, there are brief snippets about the characters. A nice long bit about Professor McGonagall, but nothing about how the Fat Friar became ghost for Hufflepuff. We know about the Bloody Baron, but not why Peeves is afraid of him. I guess we will just have to wait.

Yes, the new book is due for release September 27th...at least that's what amazon says.

The HP encyclopedia may not take that long to put together. I'd guess that the process of planning the Pottermore site would have have required organization of most of her material as she decided what extra info to release on the site for the various books. If that's the case, it would only be a matter of polishing her notes....easier I think than writing a novel/series.

Well, I hope she adds pictures. But it was mentioned that it might take a while for the book to be written.

When I seen she was working on it I got excited because I thougt it was just something she had thrown outt there as an after thought. But apparently not.

I thought with Pottermore she had scraped the idea of a written encyclopedia. I'm glad that's not true.
