“I still haven’t ruled it out,” came Hermione’s muffled vice from beneath her blankets, but Harry saw Ron smiling slightly as he pulled his maroon pyjamas out of his rucksack.

According to this article, Judi Dench, Hugh Grant, Helena Bonham Carter, Colin Firth, Simon Callow, Joanna Lumley, and Christopher Lee are the well-known British actors left to cast.

I for one would like to see Helena Bonham Carter as Bellatrix. Christopher Lee would be a good choice for Scrimgeour, but I hope Liam Neeson gets that part.

DOH! what was i thinking!
Helena Bonham Carter is like... perfect. I cant see her as Bellatrix though. Hmmm. I'd make up a character just for her to play.
I agree with you regarding Christopher Lee.
I dont see room for Colin Firth- he's too...... soft for the film. Maybe in the first two, or the 3rd even, but this is WAR- we dont need Mr. Darcy.
Liam Neeson ((i thought he was a Scott!?!?!))-- again, he's ACE!
I don't know the other actors by name, i'm going to have to goolge them.

Yep, that's her, lol. The only film with Lumley in it that I can think of is James and the Giant Peach. Judging by her role in it, Aunt Spiker, I think it's safe to say that she would be spot on for Sirius's mum.

Oh, and she also had a part in Corpse Bride but I can't remember who.

Clive Owen needs a part...any part. Perhaps an older Tom Riddle?

Actually it does matter; the casting directors and JKR herself have said that absolutely no American actors are to be allowed in the films. And, really, would you actually want a non-British actor with a fake accent in the movies?

i dont think the integrity of the work would be sacraficed in any way, then i dont have a problem with it

I don't know about anyone else, but after watching GoF I was really, really glad JKR had put her foot down about having only British actors in the films- and it isn't just about the integrity of the matter, it also works out economically, given that all the filming takes place in the U.K.

My personal choice would be Helena Bonham Carter for Bellatrix, and (if they keep her role in) someone unknown for Merope. Possibly Emily Blunt from My Summer of Love- she's just about the right age, too.

And btw, Kate Winslet is British. Not American (I seem to be getting that from posts further up the page).

i don't think it'd work having clive owen as an older tom riddle purely because we've now seen Voldemort as Ralph Feinnes and the pysical differences between the two are too great to cast clive owen as what would be a younger version of the Voldemort the Ralph Feinnes plays.

christopher lee would be good as Scrimgeour though! you just gotta love that man!
a lot of people are wanting Hlena Bonham Carter to play Narcissa but i'm not convinced that she'd be right for the role (as much as i love her)

True. Clive isn't a spring chicken anymore. But I would like to see him in some role. Paul Bettany also seems a candidate...but for who I don't know.

I dunno you know . . . she could be quite good . . . if she looked the way she did in Fight Club. Besides, did Narcissa actually do much in the book?

I think people missed the suggestion: Narcisa - Emily Watson. I think she would be fantastic.

And Christopher Lee would be just dreadful as Slughorn, in my opinion. Give that role to John Rhys-Davis. He was born to play Slughorn.

As for Liam Neeson, I think he would be brilliant as the new Minister.

Or maybe Tom Riddle Father. No one can deny that Fiennes looks a lot like him.

What about one of the D'Abo sisters for Narcissa?

eta: I guess they're not sisters, but rather cousins. Olivia and Maryam.

A personal favourtie of mine is Claudia Black for Narcissa. She has a kind of dark appeal to her.

Maybe Miranda Otto for Tonks. A couple of wigs may be needed though.

Hehe, just noticed their both Australian. Coincedence. =p
