I'd love to see Lumley and Saunders do anything; so maybe Mrs. Black for the former and Puddifoot for the latter? I kind of wish Saunders would play Umbridge instead of Staunton, whose range is too limiting. If they're just casting for the high-pitched voice, they should go with Jane Horrocks, who can at least emote. But maybe the Staunton thing is also still a rumor. As I've been watching the new Battlestar Galactica, James Callis is my new Slughorn. How perfect would that be?! I'd totally die! Last edited by MHo; December 2nd, 2005 at 4:12 pm. |

I just had this idea:
Wouldn't Dame Elizabeth Taylor be just perfect for the old hag Voldemort kills to get the Hufflepuff goblet and the locket? I don't know if she still accepts roles. I mean, it's quite a tiny part, so I guess one day of set would be enough. But she has to play her. It will be awesome. |

Well, I'm not too familiar with British actors, however the one person I would definitely want as Rufus Scrimgeour is Sean Connery. He is, perhaps, a little too well known compared to the other characters. However, his voice strikes me as the perfect resemblance to the character I thought of when reading about Scrimgeour.
I would love for them to get Ian McKellen to do some role. I was hoping he would get cast for Dumbledore after his remarkable performance as Gandalf, but he wasn't. Therefore the only part I could see him in would be the barman from the Hog's Head (who many of us think is Aberforth). Maybe someone will be able to coax McKellen to get that Gandalf beard back on. Or, instead of Ian McKellen, perhaps go for the Saruman actor - Christopher Lee. Both would do well, in my opinion, for a minor role. I also like, for Morfin, Andrew Ableson. I think he can pull off that evil-type look well. Or, perhaps Ben Cross. He also can pull of that evil look. I think that Julia Ormond could pull off either Tonks or Bellatrix. And....despite him not being British....Morgan Freeman for Kingsley Shacklebolt. He's one of my all time favorite actors, and I'd love to see him in my all time favorite series. However, that shall never happen.

I love Sean Connery - but to me, he just doesn't fit the way I envisioned Scrimgeour - I picture someone a little scruffier and rotund.
I thought more along the lines of Jim Broadbent or even Richard Attenborough(although he may be a little old) And I know she's too "Hollywood" as everyone seems to say but I think that Angelina Jolie would make a great Bella (apart from not being British - though she did play a brit as Lara Croft) and how about Rhys Ifans for Mundungus? and Romola Garai for Tonks?

You know, it's funny. I can't quite see why so many people here are going for gorgeous actresses to play Bellatrix. I didn't imagine her as a hottie at all. Remember that black haired woman sitting right behind Barty Crouch during the trial scene in Goblet of Fire? SHE would make an awesome Bellatrix. That's exactly how I pictured her when reading the books. Narcissa on the other hand, would definately have to be a stunning beauty. I'd love to see Nicole Kidman play her. I mean who else would be wife to Isaacs and mother to handsome young Mr. Felton?

True, true. Nicole Kidamn is gorgeous & a FABULOUS actress, besides I think Mr. Issacs would be beyond honored to have her as a "wife" & Mr. Felton would be blown away to have her as his "mother". And your right, with parents like that....I mean, it's easy to see where Draco would get his good looks from. Also, I re-read "Spinners End" in HBP today in school & the whole Narcissa/Snape scene I can see Nicole doing so well!! The whole crying thing & concerned mother....she'd have it nailed. Sure Nicole isn't British but, she'd still be perfect for the role. |

Re: Miscellaneous Actor Speculation v4
I just watched the movie "Elizabeth," and Fanny Ardant, who plays Mary of Guise, fits my mental picture of Bellatrix completely. Unfortunately, she's French.

And as for Draco being beautiful, that's not in the books either, you're confusing the character with the actor. Btw, don't kill me, but I don't think Tom Felton is handsom at all. Forgive me, that's just my opinion. Still, if you think he's gorgeous, think that he could hgave gotten his looks from his father. I would hate to see Nicole Kidman as Narcissa (I love Nicole and hate narcissa and can't picture Narcissa as a beauty at all). Fortunately for me she's Australian, not British. Please, don't hate me for having such different opinions! ![]() Hey, does anyone know who has already been casted for movie 5, other than Imelda Staunton and Helen McCrory? I really want to know who's going to play Tonks. I heard something about Laura Fraser. At first, I didn't like the idea much, but now I'm starting to like it a lot: I can't see her with pink, grey, blonde or red hair, but who knows? Maybe she'll surprise me. I hope she does... IF she gets the part, I mean...

Re: Miscellaneous Actor Speculation v4
I think Tom Felton is handsome when he's NOT decked out as Draco Malfoy. The ultra-blond greasy hair does nothing to enhance his looks.

I just think Nicole would work because Narcissa sems like the type of woman who can be very persuasive and use her innocent, virginal beauty as a weapon for doing that. I sort of picture her like Eve, convincing Adam to bite out of the apple. That's how I picture her scene with Severus. She clearly found a soft spot in him, Severus, Mr. Snape of all people! I mean, come on! Last edited by psycha; December 3rd, 2005 at 2:48 pm. |

Re: Miscellaneous Actor Speculation v4
I'm not sure aboout Nicole Kidman as Narcissa. She might be a little too well-known for a Harry Potter movie. Although she does look a little like I imagined Narcissa to be. I'm not sure if she could actually act the part, though....I'm not a big fan of her acting!

Re: Miscellaneous Actor Speculation v4
Guys, Bellatrix and Narcissa are BOTH supposed to be gorgeous women. Bellatrix is literally described thus in GoF and OotP(pre-Azkaban, that is) and Narcissa was 'very nice looking'(GoF). Since the entire Black family seems to be made up of beautiful people, I think we can safely conclude that they are ALL very good looking, including Andromeda, Regulus and naturally Sirius.

Re: Miscellaneous Actor Speculation v4
I can't see Nicole Kidman as Narcissa, I agree with her being too well known for the movie.
I always pictured Narcissa to be very beautiful, Bella too, before Azkaban. That Laura Fraser looks like she'd make an okay Tonks, though I'm not sure about her with pink hair... ![]()
