It would be a good way to show everyone he has reformed himself, however it's still pretty common knowledge that he was a loyal Death Eater. Even without prosecution people wouldn't trust him that easily anymore like they might have done in the past. So would they entrust him with the education of their children? I doubt it.

Neville's grandmother... hmm she probably wouldn't be bad, I've no idea what her special talents are, but she seems a bit too old for the job in my view.

I was thinking, what about Dean Thomas as DADA teacher, he has practical experience with fighting against the Dark Arts, has been in the DA and is a friend of Harry.

I like that idea. Dean supported Harry completely in OotP even when Seamus didn't, and as far as I remember he did well in the DA. It would be great to have another member of Harry's friends be a professor at Hogwarts.

Dean Thomas as DADA professor would also be great because he was possibly Muggle born - it would show the new students at Hogwarts that Purity was not a prerequisite to greatness. Dean was very brave and a survivor - he would be great!

That's a good reason as well for Dean as DADA teacher, there will always be prejudice against muggleborns so he would set a great example.

Lucius Malfoy would be an interesting choice, I really like that idea! I also like the idea of Dean Thomas being the DADA teacher. Teddy Lupin would also be interesting, but I think he would probably be too young.
