Actually, most Rose/Scorpius shippers like the canon ships. Most I know are Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, and Draco/Asteria shippers. There are some Draco/Hermione shippers in there but not that many.

Anyone who doesn't believe this can check out other sites for canon ships like Checkmated, which has quite a few Rose/Scorpius stories.

And there are quite a few Draco/Hermione shippers who hate Rose/Scorpius because the very existance of Rose and Scorpius is proof that Draco and Hermione did not happen.

It's nothing but the author poking fun at shippers who read too much into things.

Rose / Scorpius was a joke, and unfortunately a bunch of people fell for it.

You don't know that and that is not JKR's style. JKR never hinted at H/Hr or Remus/Sirius or any of the other wildly popular fan pairings because that's not how she does things. She plays it straight.

It's the fans, who ignore what she tries to tell them, who come up with convoluted theories otherwise.

Also, I find it funny that a) people here are allowed to talk generalize about fans in such a rude way and b) that people do this when it's clear they haven't had much interaction with Rose/Scorpius shippers or read any stories about the couple.

I really like the whole Rose/Scorpius thing, its cute. For some reason I can see them together because its unexpected. Although I don't think Ron will be too happy about it lol

Yeah, but Ron got the ball rolling with his little comment at the Epilogue of DH. So, he may not be happy, but I can see Hermione saying, "Well YOU started it, Ron."

I like the pairing because it seems like a cute pairing and a bit unexpected. I was never a Draco/Hermione shipper, but I think the pairing would be a way for people to see that things have changed with the Malfoys and the Weasleys.

God, it seems that it is the Hermonie/Draco thing again.....I never understood that, never got how many ppl would want too see it. So no unless Scorpius is a descent sort of kid, but if a little jerk like his dad, I'll pass. LOL

I don't know. That exchange between Ron and Rose kind of felt like deliberate foreshadowing. Almost the same way how when Ron first met Hermione he'd hoped that she wasn't in the house he was.

JK Rowling did say that Scorpius is a better person than his father. So I guess ya never know.

I'm more of a Lily/Scorpius fan myself! I think it's hilarious to think of Draco and Harry as in-laws.

Although the couples in canon don't do this a whole lot, I think it's almost *more* common to marry someone who isn't your exact age. If there was a big Sorting debacle (Scorpius in Gryffindor or Lily in Slytherin, or both in Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff! Who knows!), they could end up in the same House. Otherwise, they could even get together later--after Hogwarts.

Rose/Scorpius is a cliché...Why is she supposed to fall in love with him? There are tons of students attending Hogwarts and not just Albus, James, Scorpius and her.
Why Scorpius and not, for example, Luna's son? She may end up with him. lol Everything's possible.

Scorpius/Rose wouldn't really be Romeo and Juliet because there families have seemingly made peace. They may not be friends, but they are no longer enemies.

Ron seemed to think that Rose's Grandpa Arthur wouldn't want her marrying a pureblood, and that seemed to be his one hang up about it.

Depends on their personalities. I seen that line of Rons as foreshadowing to but Rose can't be to much like her mother or father, and neither can Scorpius. I dont imagine Score to be a mini Draco or Rose to be a mini Hermione

Ive thought of Lorcan/Lysander & Rose to, since they both have a good chance of being Ravenclaws. I think of Rose as less bookish nerdy like her mother and more thoughtfull

They may not be enimies but they still seem to have a lot of tension between the families (seen as Draco only nods at Harry). It would be wonderful to have them join all the 'Pure' families either with 'Blood Traitors' like the Weasleys or Muggle-Borns to show how things really have changed.

I can definitely see Rose/Scorpius, more so than Lily/Scorpius.

And yes, i'm a Romione shipper.

I would like to think that Scorpius didn't grow up to be an *** like his father, that Draco might have felt remorse in later years for what he had done and tried to teach his only son that blood purity should not be used as a way of judging others.

Plus it would just be downright funny - the idea of Ron having to contemplate that he may one day be related to the Malfoy's through his daughter's marriage. (I bet Christmas would a right laugh!)

Plus, i think Harry sort of made his peace with Malfoy, and what with the whole 'we don't care if you're in Slytherin' speech he gave to Al, i doubt he would have minded if Lily had ended up with Scorpius.

With Ron however, i don't think he ever quite forgave Malfoy for 6 years worth of taunts and calling his wife a Mudblood. Therefore, in my mind, it makes more sense for Rose to be with Scorpius, to help kill old school boy grudges and to possibly have a Gryffindor/Slytherin couple.

Exactly. I don't know how people can call off the idea by saying it's just something that Draco/Hermione shippers want after not getting their ship. Uh, not true. I'm a hardcore canon shipper all the way, and I can definitley see Rose/Scorpius. First of all, it's the most insight we've had for future ships since Teddy/Victoire. JKR wouldn't have written this conversation for nothing:

“So that’s little Scorpius,” said Ron under his breath. “Make
sure you beat him in every test, Rosie. Thank God you inherited
your mother’s brains.”

“Ron, for heaven’s sake,” said Hermione, half stern, half
amused. “Don’t try to turn them against each other before they’ve
even started school!”

“You’re right, sorry,” said Ron, but unable to help himself, he
added, “Don’t get too friendly with him, though, Rosie. Granddad
Weasley would never forgive you if you married a pureblood.”

And it doesn't help that the T/V scene is right after that. So all in all, that's the biggest clue we have to future ships other than T/V.

Second of all, it's just plain interesting. I would love to see how it would turn out. xD

I agree that this scene is obviously foreshadowing a future relationship or even just friendship.
