I agree, I don't like them together. Elle and Syler had the best chemistry of the show thus far. I like Daphne and Matt individually, but don't enjoy them together. Matt had more chemistry with the agent from the first season.

I totally agree. I loved Micah's character. It was cool to see young kids with abilities, not just adults. The kid perspective has been sorely lacking in Vol. 3. I'm hoping Monica comes back to, her power was my favorite!

Speaking of kids...where did Molly disappear to? She popped up in Matt's house in the future, but where has she been? She was living with Mohinder and Matt...but now where is she? Did I miss something? She's another one I liked.

I think Peter, Hiro, Sylar, HRG, and Claire are kinda the core. There are probably a few others, too. But I don't think many people would miss Tracy. I agree. I read an article somewhere (I forget which magazine it was) that discussed why Heroes ratings were down. It said that when the show was originally supposed to be a show that constantly refreshed itself by dismissing characters that weren't needed and bringing in new ones, possibly reintroducing characters when needed. The idea was that the cast and character storylines would never become stale.

Obviously, this did not really work. New characters were introduced at a far faster rate then old ones were killed off until the story lines became too convoluted and confusing. Now, there are some characters that aren't really essential to the story but are too beloved to be killed off (or that's the only reason I can figure that Claire is still alive ) or the characters that are essential don't get the screentime they need because there are too many characters to deal with. It seems like being an original cast member is enough to keep your character alive at this point, while anyone else is being purged out.

I'm really hoping the writers get their stride back in the next Volume.

Molly was shipped off somewhere early on in the season. I can't remember where or if they even told us, I just remember Mohinder and Matt talking about it. But yeah, I miss her too. I think she was growing up too fast and didn't fit the character anymore so they wrote her off. But I'm wondering if she'll now come into play since her power is finding all the heroes. The new evil and diabolical Nathan would be smart to find her and force her to track down everyone.
And as far as the writers go, didn't the execs fire them all? I thought that we're going to have new writers... and if so then what are they going to bring to the table? Is it going to be better or worse?

This is bad, but I had forgotten all about Monica and what her power was until you mentioned her. I have to agree that we need to see more young adults and kids with powers (besides Claire). I also echo the question of "where is Molly?" and "will she come back?" It would also be nice to see new younger characters with powers.

As far as I know, they just fired Loeb and Alexander, Co-executive producers.

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, Loeb stated, "As of today, Jesse Alexander and I have left Heroes. I'm incredibly proud to have been a big part of the success a show with eight Emmy nods and a win this year for NBC.com. I will miss the superb cast and writing staff and wish everyone the best." At the time, Loeb had completed writing and producing the third season episode, "Dual".

I haven't heard anything about writers being fired.

yea what ever happened to micah's cousin, last we saw she was kidnapped and they never went back to it. I love those little loose ends that never seem to be completely finished off.

but i am excited (and a bit nervous) for the return of the next volume of heroes. I hope they dont screw this up.

One way to go with the kid stars is to "stow them" away for a year or two, then bring them back as teenagers (played by heart-throb type, young actors) later as a new monkey in the cage (viewers will tend to get bored with the same characters--new blood will be needed).

We saw her rescued by Nikki. It was one of the few moments I was totally proud of Nikki. She rushed in to get Monica out. Monica made it out the door but Nikki was trapped inside when part of the ceiling crashed in. She wasn't able to escape before the building exploded. The last time we saw Monica, she was holding Micah back while he screamed for his mom.

I was wondering about that all season! I just kept forgetting to ask. I didn't remember that at all. Thanks! (although I didn't ask!)

^Not a problem. It's one of the few things I do remember. I was so crushed for Micah when I realized he was an orphan. First DL (who I absolutely adored. His shooting was so lame!) and then Nikki (who I was only sad about for Micah's sake). Poor kid. I won't be surprised if he's far less innocent now.

And I'm really hoping Monica comes back. I thought she has potential, and they just dropped her.

Yet another example of them dropping or killing off all the new, potentially interesting characters. I hope they realize how lame that is and decide to keep a new character or two, and maybe purge some of the oldies.

I have actually not watched the last two episodes because they killed off Elle. I was really annoyed after Adam's futile death but then they got rid of my second favourite. But I've given up hope that they'll ever kill Nikki/personalityoftheweek. Purging some of the old characters would be a big plus.

It's very annoying that they keep sending the same old characters through the same circuitous character arcs. Sylar's right back where he started (not that I'm complaining, Sylar's the most interesting character on the show). Mohinder tried to change and went right back. Nathan is back to the selfish senator we saw in season 1. Claire's still moaning over how useless her power is. Nikki/Tracy/whatever is still wimpy but trying to be tough.

What we really need is to dump a few of the old characters that have run their use (see Tracy/Nikki/whatever, Claire and Mohinder) and kill them off. Sadly, I don't think Claire can ever be killed off, now that we've seen she can die without her power and once the eclipse ends she can heal Cuz that makes a lot of sense. But then, there are so many plot holes already, what's one more?

Anyways, they need to kill some of the old ones. A show can still grow and progress and keep it's fans even if some of the core characters die or leave, as long as there are interesting new characters to take their place. We have several new characters with potential, but the writers see fit to kill the people who could step up and refresh the show instead of pruning the stale characters.

I agree with killing Nikki/Tracy, she annoys the heck out of me. But, I am personally a Mohinder fan! I didn't like his little foray into having "powers" with his bugginess, but overall he is still one of my favorites. I wouldn't care if they killed Claire, she annoys me too, but like someone said, I don't think she can die. They should bring Adam back at least, I really liked him. And I was sad when they killed Elle, she was starting to get more interesting.
Just as long as they don't kill Hiro and Peter!
