Good Day Everyone,

I'm sorry to say that CoS Forums is going to shut down in the Summer, sometime around July. This isn't an early April Fools joke either.

The Forums have become quite expensive to run and manage. There's a lot (LOT) less traffic coming to the site these days as Harry Potter becomes less of a topical debate for people.

I held on for a while after the last film, wondering whether JK would announce anything surprising, but I find that even if she did it wouldn't serve to help the diminishing numbers on the site or my bank balance!

Myself, I've been absent a lot more in the past year as personal issues have taken over and I've had to work longer hours, to earn more money to keep the forums going as well as pay for things like rent, utilities and god knows what else.

Some of you will be sad and I'm sure others will be happy. I'm not doing this lightly and I could have closed the site last year but held off. I know this may upset some of you who've come to see this place as a haven with friends and I'm very sorry it has to go but I've kept this place going with money out of my own pocket for 10 years now and it's no longer financially viable to do so. Please understand that this is not an easy decision!

Some of you may wish to offer to help, to donate or even take on the site. Whilst I would listen to any suggestions, I will not accept donations as this would be unsustainable in the long-term. If you wanted to take on CoS, be aware that you would need to find $200 per month and to be honest with you all I'm not sure I'm prepared to let the site be taken over by anyone. I've created a thread for comments. The other staff know only as much as the above. There is no Plan B as far as they are concerned, so do not pester them for answers to questions. If they do not know, they are being totally honest.

Many thanks to everyone who for the last 10+ years have worked in one way or another on the site. All the staff, past and present who gave their time and energy to making the community work. Every single person gave their time for free and were never paid for their efforts. It was a labor of love for all.
Many thanks to the members, those who came & went and dared to stay. Every single one of you who contributed to the site, to the discussions and events. You were the ones who made the site what it became, from the all the book releases to the heated, sometimes famous debates about all sorts of topics. You made CoS what it was. So thank you.

While I have a total crush on Hayley, I'm not sure how to feel about their latest album... The first was SO amazing, especially "Pressure." And the second was a lot catchier, but I dealt with that. This, however, seems even more difficult to find a reason to like, but of course, that's just a personal opinion and I do respect them as a band. Whatever direction they want to take, that is up to them.

I'm happy they didn't break up. (: And I should probably give their third album more of a listen. No matter what I eventually decide, "Pressure" will always be one of my favorite songs. Also, I love to reminisce about back when no one knew who Hayley Williams was so there was obviously more of a chance that we would get married. =P

^I agree. Though I like Riot! better than All We Know Is Falling, this album just hasn't hooked me like the last two. There are a couple of great tracks like, Ignorance and Brick By Boring Brick, but it's just not as great. I can tell, because if I really like an album, I basically like every single song on it, but with this one, it's just not so.

i'm the same...if i completely love an album i'll love all the songs...

all though i do love Playing God and Brick By Boring Brick the most...i do like all the songs...i'm just not loving them :/

but i do like the album

Exactly how I feel. Today's my birthday, and my mom almost bought me Brand New Eyes, but I think it's better she didn't. I'd rather only get the ones I love like, Ignorance, Brick By Boring Brick, and Playing God. I still like some of the other songs, but I just don't feel this album is as strong as Riot! was.

Now I'm all depressed. Muse's new album isn't thier strongest either. WHY!?

and the worst part is before it gets any better you're heading for a cliff
and in the freefall i will realise i'm better off when i hit the bottom (8)

What song is that from? I haven't listened to all the songs enough to have memorized all the lyrics, even though I'm usually pretty good at that.

I'm proud to say that I know all the lyrics to pretty much every Paramore song.

2. Brighter
3. For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic
4. Fences
5. Emergency

I feel like "Feeling Sorry" and "All I Wanted" should get honorable mentions too. I didn't think much of Brand New Eyes at first: I liked it but I didn't love it like I did with the previous albums. Then I finally got to see Paramore live in March this year and I was hit with a sudden newfound appreciation for the album.

I honestly loved Paramore before they were really big, before MTV, and before Hayley Williams exposed herself on the internet. I saw them years ago when they first started out and the band seemed so much happier then, and Hayley seemed so much more down to earth. Nevertheless, I still like some of their newer songs.
