Movie soundtracks

Well, I suppose some movie soundtracks fit in Pop, but there's not really a good place for this; some are classical, country...
My favorite soundtracks are: Pan's Labyrinth, Shrek 2, LOTR, Pirates, Harry Potter... oddly only one of those is Pop.

Easy... Pirates, anything by Danny Elfman i.e. Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Charlie Factory

I have really taken a liking to the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix Soundtrack. It has great music and it's fun to listen to in the movie.

I love movie soundtracks. Most of my friends think it's a little wierd, but I just love them. Anything by Hans Zimmer (The Holiday, Pirates 3, etc., etc.), Thomas Newman (Finding Nemo, American Beauty), Tyler Bates (300), and the ever-amazing, brilliant John Williams. John Williams did the first three Harry Potter scores, but my favorite was PoA. It was brilliant. But, then again, he is brilliant, so it makes sense. I'll have to think of some others that I love, that also happen to be on my iPod.

I know.. I downloaded The Quidditch Match and formed an obsession with Soundtrack music... we played music by Danny Elfman in a marching show last year and I played Pirates in like 7th grade

I really like the Hairspray CD. It's just nice because it reminds me of Grease. I love that musical.

Yeah we did Pirates for our spring concert last year. We played the first one but now I want to do the second one, it had the Davy Jones song in it and I love that song like crazy. It's almost like a dark/evil waltz to me.

Yeah my favorite sound tracks have to be first, Chamber of secrets and then Goblet of Fire, I don't have OOtP yet but I got a walmart and barnes and noble gift card so maybe I will buy it myself, but then there is also the movie I need to get T_T

Virtually anything by John Williams, Danny Elfman, Jerry Goldsmith and the other Potter music composers. I love films with plenty of orchestral music, like the Potter and PotC films, it's much better to listen to while I'm doing Uni work. I love soundtracks like those from Hairspray and The Producers but find them far, far too distracting and end up singing along!

I don't own nearly as many orchestral movie soundtracks as I'd like to though, maybe I'll have a look for some in the post-Christmas sales

Haven't had a chance to listen to the Harry Potter OoTP soundtrack yet, but I love the HP GoF soundtrack. I love the songs with words and the instrumental songs... Quididitch Match song on there is awesome!

Other ones I love:
Armageddon
Grease and Grease 2

Haven't had a chance to listen to many...

I also love "Requiem for a Tower" (POA) and "Hedwig's Theme" (SS/PS)

Well, just recently I mosied on over to the theatres and I saw Enchanted. I immediately came home to download the soundtrack from iTunes. I loved it! "True Love's Kiss" hit just the right note between tongue-in-cheek and Disney sugary-sweet. I recommend you go over and listen to the first three songs, at least.

Yes thanks for letting the whole world know. However if anything you should be going after the ones in another forum that are double done. We are going over Movie sound tracks as musicians not whats our favorite and what not. This is the musicians forum and we are all (for the most part) musicians.

I know same here. The music really works with the movies. Especially the John Williams and Elfman. I adore the music from Phantom of the Opera it has to be one of my top 3 favorites (Harry Potter, Pirates and Phantom of the Opera)

The Labyrinth (with David Bowie ^^). I just love the movie and it's soudtrack, specially the ninth song on the album David Bowie did so good as Jareth the Goblin King that just imagining the movie while I listen it's soundtrack brings a huge smile on my face.

Pirates of the Caribbean At World's end Once again the ninth one rules. The Parlay... it gives me goosepumps everytime. The guitar *dreamysigh*. The whole soundtrack is awesome and nothing like the first two.

Phantom of the Opera(the Webber one ^^) Absolutely gorgeus! 'nuff said.

It's not pop, and it's not really a soundtrack (=] So I shouldn't be typing, but oh well.), but I love all the music in The Little Mermaid. Beautiful songs and music!

Well, pretty much the only soundtrack I own is the LotR soundtrack. But I am completely satisfied with that. The LotR soundtrack is AMAZING. I listen to it all the time, and I never get tired of it. The music is just so powerful and moving. Sometimes it gets so soft that I have to turn the volume up, and then the next minute, I have to turn it back down because there was a climax to the music. It really goes up and down a lot and I really like the way it flows. It is just such breathtaking music.

But, if I could have another soundtrack to listen to, I think I'd choose PotC. It sounds really good in the movies, and I'd like to own it.

I've been listening to Thomas Newman, lately. Actually, just The Shawshank Redemption original score. The music is just so beautiful and haunting, especially The Shawshank Prison (Stoic Theme). I can never get sick of it.

My ultimate favorite soundtrack is 'Last of The Mohicans'. It's one of my fave movies too. Lately it's been alot of 'Spiderman', 'Order of The Phoenix', 'Transformers' - the instrumental one, not the one with a bunch of different singing artists, and I love 'Man From Snowy River' and 'Braveheart'.
