Re: Walt Disney's Enchanted

I love this movie! I watched it for the first time this week and have seen it four times since!!

It's the perfect Disneyholic movie!! I love all the little references to the other movies!

Btw, did anyone else notice that the actresses who played Ariel and Belle are in the movie? Jodi Benson (Ariel) is Robert's receptionist, and I haven't figured out who Paige O'Hara (Belle) plays, except that it's a character named Angela.

Anyways, I love this movie. My favorite song is "How do you know?" and my favorite part is Pip trying to warn Edward about Nathaniel.

"Apple?"
"No, thank you"
"It's good."
"um...ok"
*dies*

My friend watched it with me last night, and I think she's the only person in the world who thought Giselle should have stuck to Edward, and Robert to Nancy.

Me too!!! It's an awesome movie.

Yeah, someone told me about that. I don't know who Angela is, though. And I couldn't even tell that the receptionist was Ariel. Well, she was probably a lot younger when she played Ariel, but she probably made her voice higher for her, too. A "princess" voice, if you know what I mean.

Those are my favorite parts! They are hilarious! Whenever my siblings and I watch the Pip part, we rewind it and watch it about ten times!

Probably. I figured out who Angela! It's the soap opera woman, and that whole scene is a reference to Beauty and the Beast.

And I totally rewind that part too!! It's hilarious!

Re: Walt Disney's Enchanted

I loved it! Took my little brother and sister to see it, and we thought it was really good! Even my brother who had been moaning about seeing a Princess movie all the way in.

My favourite bit was 'That's How You Know'. I like the song, the dancing, the colourfullness, everything!

Re: Walt Disney's Enchanted

Amy Adams is now my favorite actress because of this movie. I absolutely adore Enchanted. All the characters were fun, the music was fantastic, the acting superb, the animation at the beginning was gorgeous, and did I mention Amy Adams absolutely rocks?

"Walt Disney's Enchanted"........but Walt's been dead for 44 years.

Anyway, I love this movie to bits. It's more nostalgic than most Disney animated movies are for me. I even paid $13 to get the used blu-ray, cuz it's well worth it.

What makes that part really funny is that it's done with fast food. How did they pay for that?

Re: Walt Disney's Enchanted

I finally saw the rest of this. I'd seen like the first half hour a while ago and it didn't grab me. I thought the "rodent" was cute, that's all. I'm happy to say it gets better...well until the end anyways. The "main event" was ridiculous and totally unnecessary. Overall I thought it was a really unique idea for a movie, but I can't help feeling it could've been a lot more enjoyable with a different actress (Amy Adams is lovely but I found her acting a bit annoying) and some other changes. I dunno, I just think the idea could have been better utilized/executed.

For the most part though it is a delightful romantic comedy I wouldn't mind seeing again someday (but with a significant other, hopefully)

As far as I'm aware, the original script for Enchanted was far more adult. Now that in itself could be an interesting concept. A Disney princess corrupted by the real world.

You didn't like Amy Adams in that role? Personally, I thought she was excellent, particularly as it's no easy feat to portray a princess from an animated fairytale world and be totally believable. I liked it way more than I thought I would.

Amy Adams was perfect for the role. I don't think any other actress could have done it as well.

Re: Walt Disney's Enchanted

I saw this for the first time a few weeks ago and I loved it! It was cute and funny and totally Disney. It didn't follow a typical "Disney princess" movie which is what makes it a great movie. Great songs too!

I agree, Amy Adams was brilliant. Most "Disney princesses" get to hide behind the cartoon, but she had to act it live, so to speak. You could really see the princess in her.

Re: Walt Disney's Enchanted

Heh, well I suppose it was mainly the "princess" acting that I found annoying...but then I guess that's what you're supposed to think. Like Dempsey you are meant to think she's wacky and kinda annoying but grow to love her. Eh, yeah I suppose Amy Adams did play it well.

I liked her a lot better when she could no longer sing and had become more "human" though

I saw a lot of Disney animation as a kid, so immediately recognized just how perfectly Amy Adams was playing that role. She nailed the animation princess persona.

By the way, what makes you think she could no longer sing? -- or do you mean she lost the impulse to burst into song? I also liked when the Prince jumped off the overpass & burst into song, only to be run over.....

As for Giselle's singing, she didn't lose the ability, but rather had found other ways to express herself, beyond the Disney trait of putting all emotions and thoughts into verse.

Bingo!

Yeah, I didn't mean that she'd actually lost the ability to sing But I found the songs annoying so I was pleased when she lost the impulse.

You find "That's How You Know" annoying?

I loved it.

"Happy Working Song" is awesome too. It's actually a good song to listen to when really cleaning your house.
