The Flaming Lips
Yeah, pretty sure that there's no thread on the lips, so yeah...they are amazing. Discuss.

Re: The Flaming Lips
They are indeed amazing. Especially live. They made me not wish that I hadn't gone to Bonnaroo.

Re: The Flaming Lips
You've seen them live?! *holds back jealousy*
I LOVE this band. They are one of my favourites, and I like the way they aren't over-commercialised. A lot of people haven't heard of them. I love their song Fight Test, I can listen to it over and over whenever I want to. <3

Re: The Flaming Lips
The Flaming Lips are one of my all time favorite bands, and the band after the SFA I have seen the most. I think Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd are underrated geniuses and think their experiments with music are revelutionary.
To see them live is a fantastic experience, I think I have seen them six times now and each performance is spectacular and unique. The last performance I was at, they handed out Lazer pointers to the whole audience. And they always have costumes, glitter and balloons and of course Coyne in a white suit with fake blood running down his face. When I saw them in Redding years and years ago, Coyne sang somewhere over the rainbow with a nun puppet. I just recently watched the the anticipated "Christmas On Mars" and it really scared me. Still I admire there perserverance and all their creative outlets and I really enjoyed watching Coyne savage for movie props in "The Fearless Freaks". A documentry which also dealt with the heroin addition of drummer (and multi-instrumentalist) Steven Drozd with such honesty and frankness. If you haven't heard them yet, look them up.
