Raven's Gate/Gatekeepers thread

Anyone else read these books, by Anthony Horowitz? They are really good. I was so amazed by that battle that Matt and Pedro led against the Old Ones. Scar seems really cool, and I can't wait to learn more about the present-day version of her. I'm also wondering what will happen to Alicia and Danny. Since Richard came back and helped Matt in Evil Star, will she come back with Scott and Jaime in the fourth book? Ooh I can't wait for it...

I've read them! Although I've forgotten a lot of what happened in the second book. The first one was awesome! And so creepy!! I loved reading about Scott and Jamie Scar seems interesting and I'm the same as you, Brian, I can't wait to read about her life in the present and how she is the same or perhaps a bit different to her former self.

I've read them! The first book really held my interest with how creepy it was as well as Matt's character overall. He's still my favorite of the five. I was disappointed that the third book was no longer in his point of view, but I liked it anyway because Jamie wasn't a bad narrater. Still nothing over Matt though . I'm curious to see what Scarlett's character is going to be like.

I totally agree with you. I prefered it from Matt's point of view, because, well he was just much more interesting to me. I was a bit disappointed by Evil Star because I thought the dark and slightly sinister tone from Raven's Gate would continue through the series.

I agree. I liked Matt's POV too, because he was just always so unsure of himself. I liked that he always had to figure out what to do step by step. But I actually almost liked Evil Star as much as Raven's Gate, because we finally learned a lot more about who the Gatekeepers were and are. I'm betting that the fourth book will be pretty intense too.

Re: Raven's Gate/Gatekeepers thread

I was a bit disappointed the dark and sinister and creepy tone of the first book wasn't carried through, not that I didn't like Evil Star and Nightrise as well though. It's just Raven's Gate is my favorite. With Matt as the main character. I loved his past and one of my favorite chapters of the book is where Matt's telling Richard about his parents.

Matt's powers seem to be the most mysterious too. I think that once he learns how to control them, he'd be the most powerful of the five, and that's why he's the leader.
