I love you for making this thread.

1. What do you think has made the show so popular as it is?
The fact that it's amazing? I guess that it's hilarious, and I think people can relate to the characters. For me, at least, it's what I hope my life is like when I'm that age.

3. Who is your favorite character on Friends? What do you think the other characters like about him or her?
I honestly have spent hours trying to decide, and there's no possible way I can. I love them all. I think Chandler, Monica, Rachel, and Phoebe are my favorites, though. Chandler is likable because he is always cracking jokes, no matter what's going on, and he's always able to make people laugh. I think people like Monica because she's reliable. She can be counted on to have food, a place for them to hang out, etc. They like Rachel because she just seems cool and fun to be around. Phoebe...how could you not like Phoebe?! She's unique, she's hilarious, she's amazing.

4. The main relationships on the show are Rachel/Ross and Monica/Chandler. What do you think about both of them?
I love both of these relationships, and I love the contrast between them. Monica and Chandler, most people never thought anything would happen between them. Of course, there's the episode where Monica tells Chandler she wouldn't date him if he was the last guy on earth. So that relationship took you by surprise, but once it starts, they stay together. Where as Ross and Rachel, I think most people knew they were going to end up together, yet there relationship was so unstable. He likes her, she likes him, they like each other, they fight, they break up, they're back together, wait, no they aren't. You get my point. Everything had to be going right for them to be together.

5. How do you feel about the show being canceled? If they could make one other episode, what would you want in it?
All good things must come to an end, eh? As much as I miss it, I love the way it ended, and I know it couldn't have lasted forever. I guess I would want to know what everyone is up to now. Especially Joey, as it makes me sad that he's the only one who didn't end up with someone.

6. What is your favorite episode of Friends and why?
The One Where Everybody Finds Out. It's hilarious and incredible. Some nights I just watch it over and over, and I never get sick of it. "But they don't know we know they know we know!" "I have quarters!"

7. What are some famous moments of Friends that you love?
When phoebe changes her name to Princess Consuela Banana Hammock, in The One Where No One's Ready - when Joey's wearing all of Chandler's clothes (Could I BE wearing anymore clothes? Maybe If I wasn't going commando!) and when Ross is going to drink the fat, when Chandler and Phoebe are trying to kiss in The One Where Everybody Finds Out (most awkward thing ever), Ross and Rachel's first kiss, Chandler proposing to Monica, Monica and Chandler's wedding, the Rachel/Joey moments, "I got off the plane."

8. Anything else you'd like to add?
Friends is my life, and has been for years. It's the only obsession that has always stuck with me. I mean, I love Harry Potter with all my heart, but I go through phases where I don't read it for a while and everything. I never stop watching Friends. I have every season on DVD, and I usually watch at least a disc a day. I fall asleep watching it every night. It's the only thing that cheers me up when I'm in a bad mood. I have no idea what I'd do without Friends.

I love friends but as i am quite young have only just started watching it.( i did watch the last episode though!)
i love ross and his monkey! and i love the episodes where they have flashbacks.

The characters are easy to like, and easy to relate to. It also helps that it's as hilarious as hell!

3. Who is your favorite character on Friends? What do you think the other characters like about him or her?
Phoebe Buffay. She's one of a kind, and everyone wants a bit of Pheebs in their life.

4. The main relationships on the show are Rachel/Ross and Monica/Chandler. What do you think about both of them?
I've always been a MAJOR Ross/Rachel fan. I thought Monica/Chandler was very unexpected, but I love them together, nonetheless.

5. How do you feel about the show being canceled? If they could make one other episode, what would you want in it?
It wasn't canceled, there was just nothing more to tell. I felt it ended on a very good end note.

6. What is your favorite episode of Friends and why?
"The One with the Football." I've always loved this one. I don't know why.

7. What are some famous moments of Friends that you love?
"It IS weird. It DOESN'T happen to every guy. And it IS A BIG DEAL!" "I got off the plane.." Phoebe's Gladys and Phylis portraits. "Did you have his album, It's Not Easy Being Green, too?!?"

8. Anything else you'd like to add?
Friends is, and always will be, my favorite television show.

1. What do you think has made the show so popular as it is?

I think it was a mix of the humour, the drama, and the fact that everybody coudl relate to one of the characters, if not more. Phoebe's story wasn't exactly a pleasant one. Chandler had a hard upbringing, Rachel was a spoiled child, Joey had difficulties with his job and was a bit of a playboy, Ross was needy and clingy, and every single one of them had relationship problems.

In other words, its the fact that everybody had a flaw that some fan could identify with. None of them were perfect, but that made the whole entire thing so realistic. The problems with jobs, love, babies, lesbian life partners.. I loved it start to finish.

2. The characters in the show are all unique. What do you think are some of the qualities that sets them apart from the rest of the characters?

I think each of them has something that helps keep the group together. Phoebe and Joey appear silly and stupid, but each had seriously contributed great advice, like the time Joey subconsciously talked Monica out of going to the sperm bank. Phoebe was always there for any person who had an issue, and she was great at making people feel better. She tried to make Chandler and Eddie be better roommates after Joey moved out!

Monica was really anal and difficult to please at times, but she made Chandler happy and he made her happy, after all of their relationship problems- ("Oh My Goood!")- and she was so reassuring at the end of season six when Richard came back to find her. She knew it wasn't Richard she should be with. Monica was also great for Ross, they were the best brother/sister combo ever!

Ross really made life great for Rachel. I know, the on again off again relationship thing was ridiculous at times, but they were great for one another, and thats why i supported them so much. They were realistic most of the time, because some relationships are a bit weird like that. I loved the whole story arc!

Chandler- the funny guy. I just think he was awesome with the jokes, always making a situation more awkward, but moving on nonetheless. Loved the parts where his father came back into his life.


3. Who is your favorite character on Friends? What do you think the other characters like about him or her?

I loved Chandler. I know other people rarely pick him, but his intelligence really came across in his wit. I adored that! And the whole "I'm terrible with women! Women hate me!" thing was great. He was the one I would have chosen! I loved the quirkiness!

4. The main relationships on the show are Rachel/Ross and Monica/Chandler. What do you think about both of them?

I think both of those relationships rock. I really love the Monica Chandler thing because it really worked first time and the family dynamic and problems with conceiving were excellent. It reflected normal life for people. And I loved Ross Rachel cos of the whole "We were on a break" thing. Excellent.


5. How do you feel about the show being canceled? If they could make one other episode, what would you want in it?

Epilogue episode. I'd love to know where everybody is, what they're doing... Joey in a good film, Ross and Rachel living together, Monica and chandler raising the twins... Oh, and Phoebe still giving massages and living with Mike Hannigan!

6. What is your favorite episode of Friends and why?

Jeez, tough question. I', watching dvds of it as I write this, I'm on season three... I dunno can I pick a favourite episode. I really love the one with Phoebe's Wedding. And other than that, the Season Six ones- The one that Could Have Been. Anything with Monica in the fat suit. Or the Episode where Monica and Chandler get engaged. that made me cry a little!


7. What are some famous moments of Friends that you love?

Season Three. Joey's reading Little Women and Rachel's on the Shining, and they're ruining some parts for each other- I won't say here in case anyone doesn't want to know, but it's definitely a brilliant episode. I love the Chick and the Duck. Don't get me started on them, those guys rocked my world! And the furniture being nicked so Chandler sat in the Canoe and pointed out to kathy that the duck can swim... Sorry, reminiscing...


8. Anything else you'd like to add?

I loved this show. I think it was really important for people my age at the time (ie, 10 +), because overall it discussed things like divorce, marriage, job problems, money problems... It was realistic in its own way, even while being a comedy.

I think the script is really well written and each episode always has me in tears of laughter.

2. The characters in the show are all unique. What do you think are some of the qualities that sets them apart from the rest of the characters?
Its true that each have their own qualities and this is what makes them so funny, they are all completely opposite.

Ross - hes a bit of a nerdy guy
chandler - smart, witty, sarcastic and funny
joey - loves himself and hes funny
monica - neat freak
rachel - spoilt daddys girl
phoebe - shes a bit of a wierd one, she dresses like a gypsy and is pretty dumb.

3. Who is your favorite character on Friends? What do you think the other characters like about him or her?
I really like chandler, i love his sarcastic nature and he is hilarious.

4. The main relationships on the show are Rachel/Ross and Monica/Chandler. What do you think about both of them?
I watch friends for the comedy, not the love stories

5. How do you feel about the show being canceled? If they could make one other episode, what would you want in it?
Every show has to end and it was a good 9 years, if there was a finale i would want it to show what happens next, where they all go when they part. We all know joey is in hollywood trying to make himself big, but what about the rest ?

6. What is your favorite episode of Friends and why?
I honestly cant answer this, there wasnt an episode where i didnt like, but for the sake of an answer ill say the one where chandler sees rachel naked and she is trying to see him naked, i think this is also the one where joeys dad is having an affair ? I also liked the one where chandler is stuck in a bank with a pretty girl (there was a black out) that one was hilarious lol.

7. What are some famous moments of Friends that you love?
I loved every moment of friends

8. Anything else you'd like to add?
I love this show because it takes depressing real life stuff and makes them into a hilarious sitcom.

I was just watching a re run and the very end, like, the bit with the credits, was fantastic. I had totally forgotten about it, but it was the one where Rachel teaches Ben all the practical jokes, and at the end Ben and Ross throw a figure of Ross over the banister to make it look like he had fallen to a rather nasty death, and Rachel starts yelling and screaming.

It really made my night!

What I love about Friends is the consistency of the show. It was as funny in its last season as it was in its first. That is really an accomplishment for all involved.
My favourite episode is the one where Rachel puts beef in a trifle she's making for thanksgiving. And I love the episode where Joey tries to learn French.

Those are both great ones! During the episode with Rachel's trifle, Joey is eating it and he decides he really loves it!

He lists out some of the weird ingredients and says "What's not to like?!"

But outside of that, you're right. I recently re watched every episode, and I have to say that it was just as funny in the last episode as it was in the first- maybe a bit moreso. There was simply never ever ever a bad episode, that I could see. They were all consistently high standard.

You know the episode where Chandler is talking to a guy from a different floor in his job and they gu doesn't know his name? And then Chandler's boss is asking whether their floor should hire that guy- and the confusion that follows leads to Chandler wrecking his own office! I loved the episode!

Anything Chandler centric was great- drama and humour, depending on the episode!

Chandler: "The first time he just passed me in the hall so I didn't correct him, and the second time he said ' Hey Toby, want a doughnut?' and well, I wanted the doughnut. And now it's 5 years later, the doughnut's gone and I'm still Toby"
