Good Day Everyone,

I'm sorry to say that CoS Forums is going to shut down in the Summer, sometime around July. This isn't an early April Fools joke either.

The Forums have become quite expensive to run and manage. There's a lot (LOT) less traffic coming to the site these days as Harry Potter becomes less of a topical debate for people.

I held on for a while after the last film, wondering whether JK would announce anything surprising, but I find that even if she did it wouldn't serve to help the diminishing numbers on the site or my bank balance!

Myself, I've been absent a lot more in the past year as personal issues have taken over and I've had to work longer hours, to earn more money to keep the forums going as well as pay for things like rent, utilities and god knows what else.

Some of you will be sad and I'm sure others will be happy. I'm not doing this lightly and I could have closed the site last year but held off. I know this may upset some of you who've come to see this place as a haven with friends and I'm very sorry it has to go but I've kept this place going with money out of my own pocket for 10 years now and it's no longer financially viable to do so. Please understand that this is not an easy decision!

Some of you may wish to offer to help, to donate or even take on the site. Whilst I would listen to any suggestions, I will not accept donations as this would be unsustainable in the long-term. If you wanted to take on CoS, be aware that you would need to find $200 per month and to be honest with you all I'm not sure I'm prepared to let the site be taken over by anyone. I've created a thread for comments. The other staff know only as much as the above. There is no Plan B as far as they are concerned, so do not pester them for answers to questions. If they do not know, they are being totally honest.

Many thanks to everyone who for the last 10+ years have worked in one way or another on the site. All the staff, past and present who gave their time and energy to making the community work. Every single person gave their time for free and were never paid for their efforts. It was a labor of love for all.
Many thanks to the members, those who came & went and dared to stay. Every single one of you who contributed to the site, to the discussions and events. You were the ones who made the site what it became, from the all the book releases to the heated, sometimes famous debates about all sorts of topics. You made CoS what it was. So thank you.

It's my favorite show. My favorite character is Marshall and Barney. I like the fact that its so different to other shows, its original, thrilling, funny, an its got some black humor too. I really think they should make at least 3 more seasons until they show the mother, I kind of sort of forget that the whole point of the show is the mother, ahaha.

I just got into the show somewhat recently because I think Jason Segel is adorable. I think it's really funny but I wish they'd put them all on Instant Netflix so I could catch up instead of just catching episodes here and there.

Spoiler: show
which hinted at Robin rediscovering her romantic feelings for Barney being a central theme in the new series. I am almost tempted to get back to watching this show.

I'm 100% convinced that the show will end with Barney and Robin together. It just feels so right. Plus, there's always that theory going around according to which the Mother will be Carly, Barney's half-sister, who appropriately is in college and could've been in that Economy class! That'll make Barney a real 'Uncle Barney', and if he ends up with Robin, she will be a real 'Aunt Robin'! And there are those who are pairing together Marshall's mum and Ted's father so that this will work even with Marshall and Lily...

I love this show, particularly because of the light humour and the obscure references. I also think Jason Segel is adorable in any role he's in!

I only recently fell in love with this show (how could I have missed it?! It's not as if I don't watch enough TV... XD), and it's absolutely brilliant.
Great cast, creative plotlines and just really funny.

Oh, and I've developed quite a crush on Ted.

This is my favorite show! I saw someone else mention it, and agree that Barney's half-sister could totally be the mother.

1. Barney's dad says his daughter is in college. We know the mother is in college (in that economics class, and Rachel Bilson's roommate). I mean, why would they even bother mentioning it if it's not going to be relevent later?
2. If Ted meets the mother at Barney's wedding, it definitely makes sense that his half sister would be there.
3. Ted says that the mother plays bass guitar- Barney's father used to be involved with the music industry, so that would fit, too.
4. It makes sense to me from a storytelling angle, because this way she's not a main character that we know intimately, but it's also not just some random person on the street. Also, I think it could be a good storyline because we'd have Barney's conflicting emotions over Ted dating his half-sister. Actually! I just realized it could go back to when Barney broke the bro code with Robin; this could be a way for Ted to even things out.

Whew. Okay. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

side note, we were just talking about HIMYM in the Pitchside thread, and I was telling them how I went as Robin Sparkles for Halloween a few years ago, and I wanted to share my awesome jacket i made with people i know would appreciate it.

Yesterday's one hour double episode was so much fun! I love Robin but I am really liking Barney and Nora... and I wonder who Barney is getting married to... and the cupcake girl is back! I wish we had gotten a glimpse of the mother though... but a really good start for a hopefully fun season

Because I only realized how awesome this show is quite recently, I'm a bit behind on watching everything. The first 3 seasons are now on DVD here (season 2 without extras, disappointingly), so I was watching the re-runs on TV, when halfway through season 6 they stopped airing it (in favour of re-runs of an old (and awful) Dutch show)!
I'm having withdrawal symptoms! (And this thread isn't making it any better... I didn't know half of the things I read here. XD)
They'd better hurry up releasing the other seasons on DVD here. Or I might just end up buying the import 5 seasons DVD box that costs a fortune...

The two-part premier was so good i watched it twice.
Barney and Robin: I still hope these two don't end up together (it would be way too much Friends-ian), but this was the only time I almost found myself rooting for them. Probably because I was being a sap and relating Robin's situation to mine...but it was really well done. Her telling Barney what to say on the phone to Nora being what she actually felt about him was heartbreaking!
Victoria: I found her annoying in season 1 and so was none too pleased to see her pop up again. Maybe my opinion will change?
Marshall: Beercules is possibly the funniest thing I have seen. Ever.
Schmosby: LOVED. IT. Classic Ted.
Punchy: Underutilized character. Though, actually, he'd probably be really annoying if he showed up too much. So perfect utilization, perhaps.
Robin's truth voice: LOVED. IT.

Honestly? Probably two of the strongest episode, at least back-to-back.

I have just watched all 6 seasons in the past few weeks and the season 7 premiere last night. I was very interested that Victoria is back, but to be honest, I can't remember most of her story since it was so long ago! (Even though i only saw it two weeks ago )

The cup cake girl is Victoria. She and Ted had this intense relationship. She went to France and they tried a long distance thing but Ted cheated on her with Robin...
