Good Day Everyone,

I'm sorry to say that CoS Forums is going to shut down in the Summer, sometime around July. This isn't an early April Fools joke either.

The Forums have become quite expensive to run and manage. There's a lot (LOT) less traffic coming to the site these days as Harry Potter becomes less of a topical debate for people.

I held on for a while after the last film, wondering whether JK would announce anything surprising, but I find that even if she did it wouldn't serve to help the diminishing numbers on the site or my bank balance!

Myself, I've been absent a lot more in the past year as personal issues have taken over and I've had to work longer hours, to earn more money to keep the forums going as well as pay for things like rent, utilities and god knows what else.

Some of you will be sad and I'm sure others will be happy. I'm not doing this lightly and I could have closed the site last year but held off. I know this may upset some of you who've come to see this place as a haven with friends and I'm very sorry it has to go but I've kept this place going with money out of my own pocket for 10 years now and it's no longer financially viable to do so. Please understand that this is not an easy decision!

Some of you may wish to offer to help, to donate or even take on the site. Whilst I would listen to any suggestions, I will not accept donations as this would be unsustainable in the long-term. If you wanted to take on CoS, be aware that you would need to find $200 per month and to be honest with you all I'm not sure I'm prepared to let the site be taken over by anyone. I've created a thread for comments. The other staff know only as much as the above. There is no Plan B as far as they are concerned, so do not pester them for answers to questions. If they do not know, they are being totally honest.

Many thanks to everyone who for the last 10+ years have worked in one way or another on the site. All the staff, past and present who gave their time and energy to making the community work. Every single person gave their time for free and were never paid for their efforts. It was a labor of love for all.
Many thanks to the members, those who came & went and dared to stay. Every single one of you who contributed to the site, to the discussions and events. You were the ones who made the site what it became, from the all the book releases to the heated, sometimes famous debates about all sorts of topics. You made CoS what it was. So thank you.

I've only just started to watch this show.. not sure what to think of it based on what I've seen thus far: it certainly wasn't what I was expecting, at all!

I was hoping Robin and Barney to get together.

A potential theory:
All signs are leading to them eventually getting married (probably before Ted does. The wedding snippet earlier in the season - Ted is a best man, doing the best man' speach for Barney's and Robin's wedding.

But didn't he say he met his future wife at her wedding in that episode? Or am I remembering wrong?

Huh, I didn't see it that way. I think he said that he met his future wife at a wedding, not her wedding.

I'm beginning to think that Barney and Robin will get back together. It was pretty big that it was Robin who was with Barney when he discovered the name of his father. I'm really enjoying this series so far

That does seem probable, but that's some coincidence - the old girlfriend's roommate showing up in Cleveland.

I didn't recognise Nicole Scherzinger at all until the scene where they were next to the organ. Loving this season

I am relatively new to this show, but boy, have I been hooked by it bigtime.

I felt the show was losing some steam in Season 5 but I feel it has bounced back strongly this season. Loved this week's episode "False Positive"... classic HIMYM.

Does anyone else think that the wedding where Ted actually meets the "Mother" will indeed be Robin's given that she asked him to be her Best Man should she ever get married?

I love this show! I have to confess I only watched sporadically until this season. I haven't watched a 1/2 hour sitcom on regular basis since Friends went off the air. I started watching 'cos I loved Jason Segel back when he was on Freaks and Geeks and Alyson Hannigan when she was on Buffy (and of course you have to love NPH). I think it's a really smart fun show. I just caught the pilot yesterday and am hoping to watch from the start on Netflix when I head home for break.

Glad there are other fans of the show on here!

I didn't think of that - I think they've done really well with the red herrings at every turn this season. I think at least we can rule Zoe out given we know she wasn't the college room mate of the girl Ted dated once. I still love the show though and it manages to make me laugh every week - out loud

I'm still thinking that Barney and Robin are going to end up back together again.....

He said he met the mother the day of the wedding. So he might not have even met the mother at the wedding at all, but later that day.

I hope they will get Barney and Robin together again, because I was really disappointed about how they handled that in Season 5. I partly blame Lily for forcing them to "define" their relationship...

But they do seem to be hinting at something between them.
