Lots of blood - high school kids forming a rebellion group in WWIII, lots of shooting - pretty close to being gory by my definition actually. But it's rated PG-13.

He definitely confirmed the face stomping. But he said "pool" in the bathroom and we're debating whether he meant pool of water or pool of blood. My bet would go for pool of blood since we've already had someone describing that as a very bloody scene.
Hmmm...what else could it mean? Maybe since Malfoy is a prefect and Harry with his Quidditch captain status has permission to use their bathroom and walks in to find Moaning Myrtle and Malfoy in the prefects pool doing something err...less P.G than a pool of blood....?

I bet SoulOfRebirth will love that image!

I somehow thought it was a pool of blood too. That's just how I pictured sectumseptra to be.

I hope that it's a pool of blood. I mean, from the desciptions of the Infri that we've got, that's going to be pretty scary. I'm sure the movie can cope with it.

Good to know I am not a gory freak by understanding the pool meant blood.I thought everyone did though. The pool of water was for me in COS.

Yes, but is not like I had pictured it to be. Not at all like I expected it to be. Sissy is too strong ,to confident if you ask me.

What's all this talking about pool of bloods, are you referring about Mr Horn?

Re: The All Inclusive HBP Thread v11

The problem with it being a pool of blood is that one, there is a lot of water in that scene and two, you've got to remember the audience this is being pushed to, they have never played the books as darkly as they truly are and they're not going to start. You'll get your blood but I doubt it's going to be a full frontal thing, wouldn't surprise me if they had him getting drenched in water so the blood doesn't collect underneath him but spreads out and away in the torrent.

Despite what i said earlier, i think that this will be the way they will. I mean, so long as they don't toally pull it down fully so that little kiddies won't be affected by it, then it'll be fine, i think.

And i'm not sure if this has been fully discussed yet, but what do you think on there only being three memories, one of which is totally pointless? I like the fact that they're only going to show three memories, otherwise, the ausience would get bored. But what's the point in actually showing the fake Slughorn memory?

Because of course the real Slughorn memory is - and to build up suspense to that, and so that there is a plot driving the film forward (other than the romance/Malfoy suspicion) we need the fake one.

It's supposed to be a big reveal, even Dumbledore hadn't realised the scope of Voldemort's plans, and Harry's task of collecting the final memory also serves the Slug Club plot well -- both involve getting to know Slughorn better, so it's definitely needed.

I'm more concerned for the lack of Gaunts but of course I understand the film has to be kept to a flowing narrative. Too many flashbacks would disrupt that flow. The problem with the Gaunts is that a lot of explanation is involved, and would take a consider amount of screentime, of which Yates and others may not have been prepared to give up (as in the main, the story can cope without the Gaunts - it's not crucial to the plot as the only main points from it are the ring and locket).

I'm more concerned with the event leading up to the Sectusempra scene rather than the details of the thing itself. For me, the Harry Potter books (and particularly Half-Blood Prince) have always been about looking behind people's outward self, rather than the suspense or the romance, and I think we see that most in Draco Malfoy's transformation. But if the filmmakers dare edit that out....

Re: The All Inclusive HBP Thread v11

I read this in an article from the daily mail on the internet.

Quote:
In the final movie in the Potter series, Deathly Hallows, the first part of which is due for release in 2010, he (Dan) reportedly performed a particularly daring stunt scene when his double failed to turn up. He was pulled from a burning building by a wire attached to a 100ft crane.
Well, the movie is definitely wrong- it must be HBP. I was wondering what scene they were referring to- maybe it's Dan being pulled out of Hagrid's hut at the end? It sounds like it would be a great visual effects scene.

Here's the link to the article.

I personally wouldn't trust them - they sometimes twist facts to suit the type of paper that they are, and to help them get more sells.

Yeah i think your right about that!...I think it's from Half-Blood Prince also!...I'm not entirely sure that it's Hagrid's hut though!...I mean didn't the leaked script from the new burrow attack scene say that Belatrix and the other DE's set the burrow on fire?...But wouldn't Harry be already outside?...maybe he forgot Hedwig inside and he went in to rescue her?...kinda like forshadowing her death in DH?...Poor Hedwig they don't give the girl a break!

I think I first heard that news from the Sun, which is usually full of rubbish. I mean, that newspapers once reported that Dan will film a kissing scene with Cho and a "sexy" mermaid in GOF movie. And it's funny how people still believe the news even after we saw what the merpeople will look like.

Re: The All Inclusive HBP Thread v11

What the heck is that name in the poll? Sorry I haven't been on in about two weeks and won't be on again untill Thursday.

I saw all of the pictures and they are awsome! The one with Snape, Bellatrix, and Narcissa is awsome! I can't wait to see that scene.

I can't believe they changed the release date for July of NEXT year! It is compleatly unbelievable and unfair. WB is torturing us Harry Potter fans and I feel like trying to find a way to torture them! Please tell me that I misunderstood the article on Mugglenet homepage and that that's just the IMAX release date. I don't think I can wait this long. And if the new release date is true than we might not get another trailer for months.

Unfortunately the new release date is true- shocking and infuriating but true nonetheless. I have no idea when we will get a new trailer- I'm guessing around the holidays since the movie is not coming out until late next summer (sigh!)

On another note, I know that the ew set report said that Harry is flirting with a waitress in the opening sequence, but I thought it was going to be the death eater attack on the milennium bridge. I think it would be really strange to open the movie with that waitress interlude, especially since the movie is supposed to be building up for a Harry/ginny romance. I always thought the vow would come in early on too. Maybe the sequence will be millenium bridge attack, then the waitress thing , and then a vow. Alternatively, maybe harry's flirtation with the waitress is interrupted by the millenium bridge attack.
