Muggle Quidditch 2.0?!

Wikipedia recently reported the mysterious creation of the website www.mugglequidditch.com.

I've been scouring blogs and websites trying to find out any information I can about the website -- all I've heard so far is that this might be related to some sort of Harry Potter game.

Has anyone heard anything about Muggle Quidditch 2.0?! It's killing me that I can't figure this out ...

Wow, they've totally changed the website. Can anyone else see the secret message in the grey text at the bottom? ;-)

Re: Muggle Quidditch 2.0?!

Yep, I also had a riddle sent to me via email and am racking my little brain on what it all means ? the txt at the bottle of the page is prob.. the password but were to put it

first riddle

Though buried right before your eyes
You may have never seen
A password hidden for the wise
The truth that lies between.

I also have another riddle at the bottom of the email, and give a link to mugglenet ?

Second riddle

Post Scriptum:
Five of five, together achieve
What one alone could not perceive.
A gambler's word, the safest bet:
Play your part on the Muggle's Net.

Re: Muggle Quidditch 2.0?!

I think I've figured out what most people probably have from the second riddle.

There are 5 parts to this riddle, scattered about over everyone's e-mail. Your e-mail tells you which part you have...That first part. So, mine is the third part to the riddle. When you put all five parts together, I'm guessing you can get the password and where to put it in. And since it's saying Domain...maybe when you put the riddle together, you get the website where you have to put in the secret password?

Here's mine:

Part Three of my Domain
This riddle's answer does contain:

An ancient brigade, strong and true
In battle we gained our name.
As deadly Arrows around us flew,
Not a single man was slain.

So, we've got two parts of the riddle. Everyone else, post your parts!

I found a forum that is pretty helpful:
http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question...6225715AALHyTI

Doesn't seem like it answers your part, but it probably answers mine (I got the one about the password ...)

Re: Muggle Quidditch 2.0?!

You're right, Huffley_love. There are 5 riddles. I got the 3rd one as well. Here is the second one:

Part Two of my Domain
This riddle's answer does contain:

No more than one is needed
For meetings clandestine;
Keep changing numbers heeded
To discover date and time.

I haven't figured anything out for sure, but I have a theory for the first and second riddles.

For the first: If you look on the website, at the bottom there are a few sentences. Some of the letters are bolded/italicized, and together they spell out "Veritas." Veritas means truth, and in the riddle, it says "the truth that lies between." Perhaps it's the word Veritas itself, or maybe a word made from letters hidden between each letter of Veritas? That might be a stretch.

For the second: It has to do with the date October 15 (The date the Tournament is supposed to begin) That's 1015. There are so many combinations you can make from that number ("keep changing numbers heeded"). Perhaps the tournament starts at 10:15 pm on Oct. 15th? I have nothing aside from that.

Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Muggle Quidditch 2.0?!

here's the riddle i received, however it doesnt say which part mine is.

You seek the name of the brother
Of he who guides the story's path;
Exchanging tickets with another
For relief from Ministry wrath

not sure what it has to do with the whole but maybe itll help to have all the parts together.

Re: Muggle Quidditch 2.0?!

ok so I now have 3 riddles 1,2 and 3 ?

to make sense of this madness we need riddle number 4 ??

Five of five, together achieve
What one alone could not perceive.
A gambler's word, the safest bet:
Play your part on the Muggle's Net.

at the bottom of our emails, I could be wrong !!

Seems to me it's the Mugglenet HP online role-playing game. Or will be soon.

I don't see anything about a "2.0" in there, but I signed up

I want. To know. So badly...

EDIT: I found the 2.0! And, the message centered at the bottom of the page has the letters V - E - R - I - T - A - S bolded!!

Help!!

So I saw this facebook ad for muggle quidditch 2.0 and decided to sign up. It sounded interesting, but I don't know a whole lot about Harry Potter outside of the movies. Apparently you have to solve riddles to be able to play the game, and seeing how I don't know much, I'm now stuck. So my riddles are:

You seek the name of the brother
Of he who guides the story's path;
Exchanging tickets with another
For relief from Ministry wrath.

and

Five of five, together achieve
What one alone could not perceive.
A gambler's word, the safest bet:
Play your part on the Muggle's Net.

The email I got saying that I needed to solve the riddle was signed by "L". The only L I can think of is Lucius Malfoy. The other thing I'm struggling with is the "a gambler's word, the safest bet". What does this mean??!

The website is mugglequidditch.org. I'm pretty sure if you sign up, you get the email too.

Oh wow. Looks like people are really getting in to this. Check out <another> forum that's trying to solve the riddles:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/v...=568699#568699

Also, I agree this is probably of MuggleNet's doing. I'm going to email someone in MN and see what this is all about -- we'll probably get an answer if a bunch of us send very similar requests.

This sounds to me like the fake galleons that Hermione used to let the DA know when the next meeting was. Also, third riddle seems like it may have something to do with the defenders of Hogwarts, or whatever they were called, the suits of armor and statues that came to life to fight in the final battle.

Re: Muggle Quidditch 2.0?!

so just an idea...

all the riddle say in the beginning
"part two of my domain"
so on and so forth

so i thought that maybe the reference to the domain meant the www.

so it would be like mugglequidditch.org/ something

i tried putting veritas -what is in bold letters at the bottom- at the end,
but i didnt get anywhere
so maybe every riddle solves part of the domain name, which in my head makes me think of the www address.
as i said, just an idea!

Re: Muggle Quidditch 2.0?!

I got another part of this riddle!

Maybe it's the missing link!

Part One of my Domain
This riddle's answer does contain:

Rooster and lizard
Would in ancient days maim
Three judgmental wizards
Who managed the game.

I think that my clue is the 5th, not the one at the bottom! (not fifth in order, just fifth that we found)

Re: Muggle Quidditch 2.0?!

Ok folks, so here they are in full. I'm 99% sure they're in the correct order. The only issue I have is that people who have posted "Four" and "Five" didn't label them as such, but by the sound of the one I have listed as Five, it seems to fit.

Part One:
Rooster and lizard
Would in ancient days maim
Three judgmental wizards
Who managed the game.

This probably refers to the 1792 Triwizard Tournament, in which the champions had to catch a cockatrice (rooster with a lizard's tail). The cockatrice went on a rampage and injured each of the headmasters of the three schools.

Part Two:
No more than one is needed
For meetings clandestine;
Keep changing numbers heeded
To discover date and time.

Sounds like the D.A.'s galleons, which Hermione enchanted with a Protean Charm. Could also have something to do with the date of the Tournament being October 15. As someone already posted, 10/15. Interchange these, we get 11/05, Guy Fawkes Day (how appropriate). Now we just need the official time.

Part Three:
An ancient brigade, strong and true
In battle we gained our name;
As deadly Arrows around us flew,
Not a single man was slain.

Any ideas on this one? It kind of reminds me of the statues at Hogwarts that came to life and fought for the defense of the castle.

Part Four:
You seek the name of the brother
Of he who guides the story's path;
Exchanging tickets with another
For relief from Ministry wrath.

This sounds to me like it has to do with The Tales of Beedle the Bard, The Tale of the Three Brothers. Or else it could have something to do with one of the Weasley brothers. Thoughts?

Part Five:
Though buried right before your eyes,
You may have never seen
A password hidden for the wise;
The truth that lies between.

I believe this has to do with the hidden bold letters within the words at the bottom of the website, that which spell "veritas".

Post Scriptum:
Five of Five, together achieve
What one alone could not perceive.
A gambler's tale, the safest bet;
Play your part on the Muggle's Net.

And obviously, this has to do with something on MuggleNet.com. We put all Five Parts together, solved, we find the answer.

Alright, kids. Let's solve this.
