Thanks!
No. We don't have that here.

Re: Ask the Staff v7

How can I delete an Album (photo)? I screwed up the title (inserted photobucket links) and need to fix but there is no edit option?

Thanks,

Thanks,
The "Edit Album" and "Edit Picture" link is that the right upper corner. In some layouts difficult to spot.

Click on the album name and on the Edit Album link. There will be an option at the top to delete the whole album.

Re: Ask the Staff v7

At the moment (since I am on the move) I am paying my internet access per used up megabytes, and I have therefore temporarily turned off pictures to save bandwidth.

However, in the Social groups the pictures still show up. Is there any way of switching these off, too?

Re: Ask the Staff v7

From what I see (but I'm no big techie) the only option would be to enable pictures for the whole group. There seems to be no way to switch of group images for single member accounts.

An easier solution might be to leave an image rich group for the time being aka until you have moved, what's perhaps OK if it is an public group (you could still read in there then). Sorry, I know it's not perfect. :/

If you have FireFox as your browser, you can use Ad Block Plus and Flash Block to reduce the graphics that load. They are also good for blocking sigs/avies/other graphics you find objectionable or just plain too creepy to view. ;)

Re: Ask the Staff v7

Thanks for that! I'll experiment a bit and see what I can do.

Perhaps I am just a bit too cautious. I just got a mobile internet modem which will work fairly cheaply in most European countries, particularly in those I travel to regularly.

Ill have yet to work out what my useage will be... but I thought that it might be good to save on pictures in any case!

Many thanks mate! It was very hard to see (sorta camouflaged), but I got it.
Thanks again!

Re: Ask the Staff v7

If I find somebody's reply to my post insulting, I know I can report it...what precisely are the guidelines here? How am I supposed to go about doing this? What counts as something report-worthy?

Or maybe this is already written down somewhere for my benefit, and I just haven't been bright enough to find it.

If in doubt, report it and the staff will look it over. We can't promise any action, but we look carefully at each reported post to see what should be done. It's also better to report it than it is to reply "in kind"

If you've got any more questions feel free to owl me.

Re: Ask the Staff v7

Is it possible to get an "archive" in the DOIMC area? There are so many locked threads and it's difficult to get track of the open threads with all the closed ones around it and it makes it easier for people to find topics and participate more?

Re: Ask the Staff v7

The closed threads could get moved into the non-HP archives like any other thread not discussing HP topics. The DoIMC just usually reopens even long-term closed threads after a while (which probably got lost in the forum archives), so we might have to think about a better solution there. Thanks!

ETA: Solution found & done.

I just hijacked the Non-HP Archives and moved 53 threads there. Should be a lot easier to find the open threads now.

If you're looking for a locked DoIMC thread to review, go to the non-HP archives if you can't find it in the DoIMC.

I came across a user name that had a strike-through going across it, and the member's title was "banned". Does this mean that user is no longer a part of the community?

Yes, users with strike-throughs are indeed banned from the site and can no longer log in to their accounts.

If they are banned how did Lumos come across it?

Though members may be banned, their names still show up if they've made posts on the site before they were banned. But once banned, they cannot continue posting.

Re: Ask the Staff v7

Is there any chance we could suggest something to the staff?

Sure. There is a suggestion thread just for that purpose.
