Re: Quidditch - would you really play?

I doubt it. I'm horrible at every sport except tennis + I'm scared of heights. Doesn't make me the best Quidditch candidate I think.

YES! Quidditch is my favorite sport and I like heights and flying. I'd want to be a seeker.

Re: Quidditch - would you really play?

I would. I think I would like to be a beater. I played basketball thru college - but I was always more of a defensive player, so I don't think I would like being a chaser. My eye sight sucks so seeker is out.

Since I also played softball thru high school I was pretty good at swinging at bat and was pretty good and hitting the ball where I wanted it to go.

So I think after I got the flying part down, I either be an awesome beater or a pretty decent keeper.

Re: Quidditch - would you really play?

In all honesty, I doubt I'd want to actually play Quidditch because I'm very uncoordinated and off-balance in real life. Plus, I do have a fear of heights, so if I wasn't falling off my broom or something, I'd be freaking out over how high everything was. I'd go to all the games and cheer for the Slytherin team, though!

No way! Hights scare the **** out of me! But it'd be awesome to watch. Scary, but awesome.

I would never be able to play professionally but like I play indoor soccer... for recreation only. Although that Apparition Tag sounds like a heck of a lot of fun!!!!

Re: Quidditch - would you really play?

I'd be torn between the thrill of flying and the fear of falling.
I'm not crazy about heights, I'll admit... though I used to climb to the top of every tree in my neighborhood when I was a kid, and the best dreams I've ever had were those where I could fly or float.

I guess it's a bit different for a wizard too: for one thing, wizards are more resilient, physically, than muggles, seeing as how Neville bounced when falling out of a 2nd story window as a child. Plus, even if you do get hurt, wizard medicine and healing seems way ahead of muggle medical tech. Madam Pomfrey could heal a broken arm in a heartbeat, rather than it taking weeks and weeks in a cast.

If I had all those benefits, I'd more tempted to try it. But as a muggle, I don't know how I'd feel about being 60 feet up in the air with nothing but a broom between me and the hard ground far below. Maybe it just takes getting used to. Start by flying low, gaining a little height (and confidence) each time you practice.

Re: Quidditch - would you really play?

I love to ride my bike as fast as I can, even in my thirties. I love white water kayaking and to a lesser extent, river rafting. I liked some competitive sports when I was growing up.

So I think, quite likely.

Re: Quidditch - would you really play?

Definately (:

As a witch, I would love it because Ive always loved sports etc xD

As a muggle, sports or activites which contain a certain amount of risk always appeal to me so Id still love to xD

Id probably be a keeper (:

Re: Quidditch - would you really play?

Probably not, I'm afraid of heights and falling. If I were able to get over that, though, maybe I would play. I would probably only be a Keeper or Beater, though.

Re: Quidditch - would you really play?

Probably not. As much as I would love to be a Beater (I was one of those soccer players that got carded a lot, which is why my mom eventually made me quit), I doubt I would be able to stomach flying very well. I lose my stomach on swing sets, for crying out loud.

Yes!
A quarter of my life revolves around sport... why would it be any different in the magic world?

definitely not! I am terrible at sports, I would be terrified a bludger would hit me, plus I hate heights. But I would love to go watch the games :-)

I definitely would! It looks hard, but being in the air? I've ALWAYS wanted to fly..... *day dreams*
