Re: What annoyed you most about GOF v3

-Krum looks like a football player not a skinny, awkward, Quidditch player
-So few lines for Fleur and Krum
-Madame Maxine eating out of Hagrid's beard, HUH?
-"Who wants me to open it"
-Barty Crouch Jr.'s weird tounge thing
-Barty Crouch Sr. in general
-"I love magic"
-Where's the Quidditch World Cup, we can't even see a minute of it?
-The choreographed entrances of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang
-No creatures in the maze
-Krum is expelliarmused, he passes out with his wand still in his hand
-"HE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!

The awful hair in this movie is bad enough for me to not notice a lot of other bad aspects.

Funny because Prisoner' had great hair. How things change!

that's true!! They had awful shaggy hair! I figured that must have been the style in Britain at the time the movie was filmed. Although that's kinda how I always pictured Harry's hair the way it's described in the book. Out of control, it stuck up at all ends. But man, was it bad!

'I love magic'

But I think that's been named already
Out of character Dumbledore... I hated that too... that line just made me want to run out of the theater... along with 'I love magic...'

Both of those things = a from me.

So, so bad -- two of the worst things from GOF. Gawd that movie could have been good -- but instead it was a disappointment of sorts.

Harry and Ron's hair! It was horrible. Cho Chang was also really annoying. The actress was good, but the character herself is too goody goody (and she sort of comes in between the whole H/G thing and Ginny is so much better for Harry than Cho!!!)

Re: What annoyed you most about GOF v3

I had a couple things I didn't like at all about GOF. The movie as a whole is really true to the book for the time alotted and I was very happy with the end product.

There were four things i just did not like though...

-When Emma Watson lets out that horrible scream "Yes, Yes!" after she spots harry flying towards the golden egg with his broom still smoking slightly from the dragon. Was so horrible and annoying to watch.

-The "I love magic" line, leave it out! If you simply showed harry with a large grin on his face after walking into the tent that would have been more than adequate the line itself is just out of place and incredibly corny.

-There were no magical creatures in the maze? No sphinx or spider? I think, definatley no sphinx that was in the book. I would have really liked to see more than just running around in a maze being attacked by moving bushes and weeds, seriously what was that.

-Lastly, harrys horrible acting reaction when he is "protecting" cedrics body after he returns to the maze with his corpse.

And why do so many of you care so much about their hairstyles? Poeple change their hair regularly why would they keep the same hairstyles throughout the ENTIRE course of the movies. Thats like Zack Morris's hair style never changing once the entirity of the show. It just doesn't work.

I agree, and I have the same opinion.

Except the 'I love magic' line, I liked it...
I like the way he says this and then a minute later the death eaters are out.

Re: What annoyed you most about GOF v3

CHEESY LINES.

There were too many "worst lines in the film" lines in GoF.

"I love magic." (Harry flashes cheesy grin)
"Who wants me to open it? You want me to open it?!" "YEAH!"
"Ron told me to tell you that Pavarti told blahblahblah...I'm not an owl!"
"The Chinese Fireball...OOOOOOHH..." (slaps forehead)

Just...ergh.
Also, Dumbledore's out of character moment when he body slammed Harry and yelled, "DID YA PUT YO' NAME IN DA GOBLET O' FIRE?!?!" He was great throughout the film, he always is, but that one moment of just total out-of-character moment hung on for a long time.

I didn't like Barty Crouch Sn. just because his delivery of his lines were too senile-senior-moment. But then again, he was barely in the film, another thing that bothered me. The movies can't help but leave stuff out, but GoF left several important things out.

Re: What annoyed you most about GOF v3

I think GoF is one of the best HP made yet, i really enjoyed it.

However the fact they left out so much of Voldemorts dialogue in the graveyard out, Also choosing not to include Dumbledore's 'planning' to whole return of Voldemort thing, kinda got to me because I really thought that scene set it up well for the next installment. But most of all the total non-explaination of Priori Incantatem, it was just mentioned and forgotten.

"DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET HARRY!!"
Simply awful and easily the most irritating thing in the movie.

The maze tasks could have been better too.

Rupert, Daniel, James & Oliver's hair! I really could not stand watching them with long hair!

Other than that, I find it annoying that they cut out a lot of important parts.

Re: What annoyed you most about GOF v3

The major cuts made to the beginning really irked me, BUT...I realized something yesterday.

In the top box, when Fudge is speaking, you can see an empty seat next to Barty Crouch. He's not supposed to be there, but at least they put the "empty" seat in!

Re: What annoyed you most about GOF v3

IMO, Goblet of Fire is just Made of Fail. Where to even begin?

1. Krum. God, just kill me now. It's like there's nothing more to him than strutting on the beach .. flinging his arms around like a lunatic whilst being chased by fangirls. My friend and I now have an ongoing joke about him, "DEEZ GIRLS ARE SO ANNOYING. I JUST VANT TO VORK OUT ON ZEE BEACH!"

2. The absence of the explanation of Barty Crouch Jr. escaping from Azkaban. I'm just sayin', if non-book readers payed attention to Prisoner of Azkaban, there was a huge uproar when Sirius escaped. Yet Barty Crouch Jr.'s escape was all hush hush? They should've explained the plan and everything. I understand time constraints and all, but I thought that scene deserved to be in the movie. Guess I was wrong.

3. Harry just.. falling on the ground when the Death Eaters stormed the QWC. I mean, let's be serious, would he have really survived that? No. He would have been trampled to death. They should've kept it like it was in the book.

4. Barty Crouch Jr.'s reaction at the hearing of Karkaroff. He was supposed to be really quiet and terrified at his trial, like he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Not all gung-ho about being captured.

5. Angry!Dumbledore and Annoying!Harry. For God's sake, Dumbledore would never ever react like that to anything involving Harry. And Harry would never be all "Oo, look at me guys! I defeated a dragon! I got a gold egg! Should I open it? Really? I should? Ok!" Also, Ron's character was so ridiculous it wasn't even funny.

6. "I love magic." 'Nuff said.

There's other things, too, but those are my major points. It's been awhile since I really watched Goblet of Fire, and it's been even longer since I took it seriously. While the book was really wonderful, the movie fell flat. I consider it a dissappointment. But of course, these are all my own opinion.

Sadly, I think most of us agree with you padfoot. Pretty much everything you said is right on the money. Although, I am embarrassed to admit, that I find Krum sort of, umm... delicious. I guess I'm one of those fangirls!

In all seriousness though, I really wish they could re-do the movie. With Yates as the director.

Re: What annoyed you most about GOF v3

Dan said in a interview that Mike Newell wanted them to have long hair. Dan didn't like his own hair in GOF.

I remembering seeing it at the theater thinking it's jumping around too fast at the beginning plus DumbleDore shaking Harry was uncalled for.

Didn't really pay attention to the maze thing until I read the book again.

There's nothing wrong with being a Krum fangirl . I have an odd attraction to him, sort of. I just meant I wish they wouldn't have made him look like such a moron.

Oh another part I forgot to mention. The introduction to Beauxbatons and Durmstrang. It makes me laugh every time, especially Durmstrang's entrance.

Agreed. Yates has done really well with the franchise, IMO, and there's no doubt in my mind he could've made Goblet of Fire much better than Newell did.

Yes, that whole scene with their over-the-top entrances was just... I don't even know.

Although I do have something positive to say about the movie. I burst out laughing when Ron said, "You know how I like it when they walk." Too funny! As bad as the movie was, it did have its very funny moments.
