S. Darko

A sequel to Donnie Darko. Really not sure how I feel about it, but my gut isn't to keen on it. I'll give it a chance.

Re: S. Darko

Think I'll give it a wide berth.

Although I did like this cast listing: Savannah Ostler ... Barfing Girl

It looks pretty bad. Apparently Richard Kelly isn't happy that it is being made.

Re: S. Darko

I don't blame him.

Really, it feels like it's been cheapened.

Just like The Butterfly Effect, now on to number 3.
And Mimic.
And Hellraiser.
And unfortunately the Saw 'franchise'.
And pretty much every Disney 'sequeled' movie.

The business end of movie making trumping artistic taste.

But again, I'll give it a chance and rent it when it comes out direct to video *never a good sign*

I gave Lost Boys The Tribe a chance. I didn't hate it. *High praise, huh?*

Has ever been thus.

I'll rent it as a weekly I think. Hated the idea since I first heard of it. It isn't looking good... who cares about Samantha anyway?

Re: S. Darko

I will definately see this film, but I do not have high hopes for it. Donnie Darko is such a beautiful film, there is no need for a sequel of any description as no one will ever be able to recreate that world and feel - probably not even Kelly himself would be able to do it now. Why can't they just leave Donnie Darko alone, not make a movie about his, frankly, annoying sister?!
I'm comitted to Sparkle Motion... but not this much :P

Re: S. Darko

I love "Donnie Darko" and my first instinct was, "Screw that movie. How can you have a sequel when Donnie died?!" Now I'll probably see it just because Jackson Rathbone is in it.

Re: S. Darko

~sigh~
I impulse bought S. Darko today. I watched it. I looked for clarification about it on imdb threads.

My conclusion, I feel justified for shouting a curse at my tv after watching it.

I am depressed by it.

If you feel the need to see it, don't buy it. I am ashamed for buying it.
