Good Day Everyone,

I'm sorry to say that CoS Forums is going to shut down in the Summer, sometime around July. This isn't an early April Fools joke either.

The Forums have become quite expensive to run and manage. There's a lot (LOT) less traffic coming to the site these days as Harry Potter becomes less of a topical debate for people.

I held on for a while after the last film, wondering whether JK would announce anything surprising, but I find that even if she did it wouldn't serve to help the diminishing numbers on the site or my bank balance!

Myself, I've been absent a lot more in the past year as personal issues have taken over and I've had to work longer hours, to earn more money to keep the forums going as well as pay for things like rent, utilities and god knows what else.

Some of you will be sad and I'm sure others will be happy. I'm not doing this lightly and I could have closed the site last year but held off. I know this may upset some of you who've come to see this place as a haven with friends and I'm very sorry it has to go but I've kept this place going with money out of my own pocket for 10 years now and it's no longer financially viable to do so. Please understand that this is not an easy decision!

Some of you may wish to offer to help, to donate or even take on the site. Whilst I would listen to any suggestions, I will not accept donations as this would be unsustainable in the long-term. If you wanted to take on CoS, be aware that you would need to find $200 per month and to be honest with you all I'm not sure I'm prepared to let the site be taken over by anyone. I've created a thread for comments. The other staff know only as much as the above. There is no Plan B as far as they are concerned, so do not pester them for answers to questions. If they do not know, they are being totally honest.

Many thanks to everyone who for the last 10+ years have worked in one way or another on the site. All the staff, past and present who gave their time and energy to making the community work. Every single person gave their time for free and were never paid for their efforts. It was a labor of love for all.
Many thanks to the members, those who came & went and dared to stay. Every single one of you who contributed to the site, to the discussions and events. You were the ones who made the site what it became, from the all the book releases to the heated, sometimes famous debates about all sorts of topics. You made CoS what it was. So thank you.

It's a wonder he didn't drop the camera when the ship rolled over Keith. That was pretty intense, although not as intense as that wave hitting the stack with the crew hanging on.

We'll count on you to start a thread next year and let us know when the show is coming on again. We wouldn't miss it, especially with someone we know working it. I can say ... Hey, that was a great shot. Indy did a fantastic job of setting up the deck camera.

I was watching the rerun just now. Even though I just saw it on Tuesday, I still held my breath.

Suggestion, Indy. The show captions where it's hard to hear over the wind and the waves or the chopper blades. Unfortunately, the captions were in white lettering against white waves and it was hard to see. Maybe a different color or larger type?

I'm a big fan of Captain Sig and the Northwestern, and Captain Phil and the Cornelia Marie. I also think it's neat that the guys on the Time Bandit always go by their dad's resting place and salute him.

I have watched a few episodes here and there. It was pretty good from what I saw, but I haven't really watched it. I netflixed the 1st season so i'm pretty pumped about ahat!

Watch for the reruns. This was one of the best seasons, especially the season ender.

I Netflixed the first few seasons, too. I really enjoyed them, and hopefully you will, too. But as the show goes on, I've found that the thing I love most about the show is the guys. You get to know the guys and their histories almost like they were old friends or something. You get invested in them and their stories. You get even more nervous watching them because you really care about them after watching them for several seasons.

They finally have started showing "After The Catch " here at night so I finally do get to see some of what happened.

Deadliest Catch is by far the BEST reality tv show out there. It's hard to vote on my favorite crew, but I'd have to say the Northwestern, the Cornelia Marie, and the Time Bandit in that order. Indy, that is awesome that you work the show. I always think to myself how awesome the video and producing in that show is. Definately top notch. Hope ya get on a boat next year!

I have to say my favorite episode was the one where the Time Bandit rescued that one guy from the water. Thoughts?

I like all those crews, too. I think Cornelia is my fave, with Northwestern a close second. I also love the Time Bandit boys, who always make me laugh.

That episode was intense! What an amazing ep. Some of my faves are from Season 4 when Phil was going through his medical crisis.

I can't pick a favorite. It depends on what's happening in any given episode.

Scary. It's bad enough when any boat goes down or gets slammed in any way. If and when it happens to one of "ours" it's going to be devastating.

I'm guessing you didn't get to Vegas to see Phil and the boys.
