This is what friends do: they grieve with you when you're sorrowing, and laugh with you when you're joyful. They comfort you when you're hurting and try to bring you around to where you can start to live and love and laugh again even after the most devastating tragedy.
So yes, I think NEP parties can include such things as funeral receptions and memorial services. My heart goes out to the little girls' family. Imagine being at a karate lesson, thinking that your sister is happily meeting the Senator she so admires, only to be called out to go to the hospital because Sis has been shot. And finding out when you get there that while the physicians struggled to save her life, she slipped away and you'll never see her again. It's terrible.

I don't remember it. Did you notice the very brief shot of Hermione taking Harry's hand at 1'07" into the videoclip? That's supposed to have been shot, then left on the cutting room floor but someone retrieved it for this video.
