The first Earth Day that I remember was 1970. We had a newspaper drive. we collected tons of newspaper to recycle. I remember when computers became very popular. We were told that we would soon go to a paperless society. I don't think that has happened. In fact, I read somewhere that we have more paper being used. We are printing out a lot of paper. There is a fear of losing info. if we have a computer crash, so we print out stuff to save.

I don't think we'll ever go to a paperless society. We use paper as backup, plus some people print out every little thing they see.
We need to reduse our use of paper and reuse and recycle the paper we do use. Use both sides of the paper. It bugs me when I see people taking notes on only one side of the notebook paper. Would it really kill them to use the other side? Don't use a fresh sheet for each day. Start at the first blank spot after yesterday's notes. You'll save paper and it all be more compact. Think about it. The less paper you use, the less paper you buy, the less money you spend.

I have done that for ages, writing on both sides of paper for note taking. My problem is I print a lot of stuff when I don't need to.

With springtime, flowers blooming, birds flocking back, it is fitting that today is Audubon's 100something birthday.
Let's have a party outdoors to enjoy bird watching and hear them singing!!

She hangs about in the Bookery rather a lot, now that most of the students there have her as one of our favorites instead of one we like to prank by hiding her left shoes.

Shall we have our own party to celebrate the Royal Wedding? Even Google got a special logo for today!
  Let's sing, dance, eat and drink (the latter in moderation) to wish them a happier marriage than William's parents was.  Oh, and we have to have a photo of the kiss, don't we?  What do you all think of her dress? I thought it was beautiful. A lot better than some royal (or non-royal) wedding dresses that I've seen lately. Last edited by Khanh; April 29th, 2011 at 6:53 pm.

I just watched the d.v.d. of Harry Potter, Part one and I think Fleur looked pretty as a bride. I wish they showed Bill and Fleur kissing.

My mom saw the new Google logo. She likes it, but she thought it was because she'd used Google for a set amount of time or something. I told her Google changes their logo all the time for holidays and other special days.
