Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
I think Lupin was my favorite teacher because i love his character, and he was really good at relaying information to the students and made learning fun. However both umbridge and lockharts characters were fun to read, you loved to hate them especially umbridge. I think Quirrel might have been a really great teacher if he didnt have a big stinking leech of a man in the back of his head, but i guess we will never know.

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
It's hard to choose between Lupin and Snape, they were both great teachers in their own ways. Moody Crouch was also a good teacher, pity he was a death eater

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
For me it has to be Lockhart, partly for his hair but mostly because he's just sooooo annoying, it entertains me greatly!

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
It has to be Lupin, no doubt! He made me wish I was part of the class
Such a great teacher, a lot of fun and was always encouraging to even weak students ( like Neville). For entertainment value: Umbridge and Lockhart ![]()

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
Okay, I have learned a great deal of respect ans sympathy for Severus Snape and he COULD have been the greatest Potions Master AND the greatest DADA instructor that Hogwarts ever had if he had chosen to approach teaching the way he approached sharing his knowledge with Lily. Instead, it was a weapon and a crutch, a way to assert power instead of a way to impart knowledge. As such, I cannot put him at the top of this list, though I certainly think he was a more gifted potioneer and Potions Master than Slughorn. Though my opinion of Remus John Lupin took a serious hit when he tried to run away with the circus mere months after marrying Tonks, I think he's the best all-around teacher who ever instructed Harry in DADA, and certainly my favorite of the DADA instructors.

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
Moony was the best.
The rest were there for pure laughs, in the order of: Lockheart, Umbridge, Snape, Moody, Quirrell. Actually, all except Lockheart could teach the subject, even if they did so poorly for personal reasons, but no one compared to Moony both in knowledge and methodology.

Snape for the drama
Lupin for the funny practicals and Crouch for the Dark Arts

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
Remus was my absolute favorite. He made it fun and he is one of my favorite characters. Plus, he's part of the Marauders.
My second favorite is Mad Eyed Moody. Even though it was Crouch Jr. using polyjuice potion, he was still a cool teacher. Teaching them all how to use unforgivables. Very cool. ![]() |

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
Lupin first... for style, brains, experience...
Moody second... for the same reasons, but hoping (to ditto a remark above) that the real one would teach as well as the fake one did...

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
I'd love to have Lupin for a teacher in real life. The one I found the most entertaining while reading was Moody. I love Snape, but I prefer him in potions. Quirrel was just forgettable; Lockhart was too annoying; and Umbrige, well I just loathed her.

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
I expect Quirrell was probably trying for forgettable (or should have been, at any rate). Having Voldy sticking out the back of his head isn't a situation he'd have wanted to be caught in.

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
Moony, of course! He was by far the most skilled as a teacher, and as a person he was one of my favourite characters. There really is no contest.
Next I would place impostor Moody, because he was definitely interesting, followed by Lockhart for pure entertainment value. The other three were just unpleasant as teachers or as people.

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
But you only listed six.
(Carrows = 7?) Well... I liked Moody and Lupin because they made good teachers. I liked Snape, because he had a good background story/plot. Also, the fact that he finally made the DADA post meant something BIG was brewing in the plot. I liked Umbridge because she brought good entertainment value when the pupils began to rebel against her. I didn't care much for Lockhart (the ponce) or Quirrel (creepy-guy) in the plot. So, overall, I think my favourite character as a DADA teacher was Lupin. ![]()

Re: Who was your favourite DADA teacher?
I really enjoyed Lupin throughout PoA. He was really an awesome teacher, and I think he taught the most out of all the teachers. Then imposter Moody came along and he was really awesome as well. I think it was more because people were frightened of his appearance, I mean come on, how awesome was his entrenance into the Great Hall?
And the fact that he put the Imperius curse on the students as well was just unexpected and totally against the rules. So he and Lupin are actually tied for first place in my book. ![]()
