LEGO Harry Potter Video Games

I'm really hoping that there is a lot to do for this game. One of my favorite things about the Lego video games is that there are so many little side quests before you can hit that 100% completion, and that you have to replay each level multiple times before you can master it and unlock hidden ones and then play those ones several times...!!! I'm just really looking forward to this game.

Agreed. Especially Lego Star Wars. I am hoping we will get Years 5-7, and then a Years 1-7 game. That would be the best.

Well, from the looks of the new sets, nearly all the characters are being re-designed

From what I've seen, the characters in the games are always different than the ones in the movies (or books...does anyone know if it's being fashioned after the movies or the books??) as well as several versions of each character, often in different outfits. I wouldn't be surprised to see Hermione in her dress for the Yule Ball, as well as the boys in their dress robes. I wonder if they will have different weapons, or if it will just be different characters having access to different magic the way "good" and "bad" Jedi had different abilities with the force...?

I think they're going to use both. The castle is based off the film sets, of course, but I think I've heard reference to book-only events. I hope they have the blast-ended skrewts!

All the characters 'learn' magic, so I think it just depends on what the character learns. I have never played Lego SW, so I can't draw comparisons there

Well, in other Lego video games, you have different people with different weapons or items that allow them special access to things. For example, in Indiana Jones, Indy has a whip and he can use it to pull things open or swing across some areas. In Star Wars, Jedi have Light Sabers and the Force as weapons/abilities, while Han Solo, for example, carries a gun and can shoot things that Jedi can't do anything to. Does that make sense?

Anyhow, I'm excited.

Or like in Star Wars, there are certain doors that only StormTroopers can open, or only Bounty Hunters can open and some you have to have R2-D2 or C3PO. I could see them doing that in HP. Like you have to be a Death Eater or maybe even a House Elf to access certain places. Like in Indiana Jones and Star Wars, there are some little hatch doors that only smaller characters can go through, like young Anakin or Short Round from Temple of Doom. I could see them doing that with the house elves.
I can't wait!!

TT Games talks more on HP Lego and there are a few new scenes and looks like some new ways to play the game, like split screen with two players.

There's a new blog post on the site, where they describe how they make characters. There's also a new feature with the Polyjuice Potion: you can brew it in the middle of levels during free play to transform to whoever you want!

This looks amazing and hilarious.!
All the facial expressions just get me every time i watch the trailers.
It looks like they mix the serious action adventure aspect of the series, and have a great sense of humor about it! It comes out in May, and I just cant wait.

I don't even know how much time I spend in the lobby areas of these games, just trying to get some more studs to buy things and characters. That sounds like it will be fun!

I am really excited for hopefully Years 4-7. I really want to play as Luna and Tonk. Bill too . And Kreacher .

I wish I had the money to get it on release day though . I am buying a new TV and the Dumbledore's Army Wand Collection. Hopefully in the summer I can borrow a Hufflepuff to find me some more money.

I think I will get the Wii version. I only have a Wii and DS, and I am afraid the DS features will be lacking in comparison to the features on the Wii.

Sadly, you are correct

I'll have to get this on PC unless I somehow manage to get a PS3
