Mmm, "Happy Days" is one of my favorite songs they've covered. Chris and Lea were born to sing together. Like their "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" during the sectionals episode was fan-freaking-tastic!

I love the Hey Soul Sister cover from the Warblers, and just love the show in general! Blaine is just about the most adorable thing ever.

Wait, is that for real or something that I've just seen wished for on this thread?

Has anyone seen this?

Glee bracket on FB. I think it's too heavy on Kurt/Blaine/Holly Holiday for my liking, but cute idea!

Re: Glee

FINALLY A NEW EPISODE.

I personally liked this episode. I can see why people aren't going to typically like this episode, but for me it had some VERY good moments that far out-weigh the bad ones.

To start off with, I didn't really enjoy many of the performances in this episode. Mike's dance routine was good, and Turning Tables was probably the musical highlight of the episode for me, but I thought All By Myself (done a million times) and Mercedes' solo were a bit bland. I enjoyed I Follow Rivers by Tina, but this was only because of the Heckler's club and had nothing to do with the performance.

One thing I feel must be said, I HAVE MISSED YOU SO MUCH SANDY AND TERRI. Sue seems to be back to her old-self and hilarious storylines (unlike Original Song) and Sandy being the 'Pink Dagger' totally stole the show for me. (I loved his cape and the motto he came up with - 'You've just been poked, poked by the Pink Dagger.'

There was three stand-out scenes for me in this episode.

One: The Wemma scene with the grapes. It was good to finally see these too close again and Will being there for her with her OCD problems. The chemistry was undeniable in this scene.

Two: Santana/Karofsky/Blaine/Kurt confrontation. Maybe my favourite scene of the entire episode. Santana was GOD-LIKE and hilarious. I think this may set up well for the 'Born This Way' episode. And will Santana be the first to find out Karofsky kissed Kurt? Maybe. I mean, she did overhear Blaine and Kurt telling Karofsky he can't 'handle the truth' or something alone those lines.

Three: Rachel and Mercedes in the car. It was nice to see our two-divas having a heartfelt conversation about why Rachel always gets the solos.

All-in-all, I REALLY enjoyed this episode. It by no means goes down as one of my favourite Glee episodes ever. The storyline was at times all over the place, but it didn't stop me from enjoying Glee (Especially after a four-week hiatus!).

Re: Glee

I found last night's episode to be pretty average. Of course, it lost points before it even aired because Holly Holiday was in it, and she just kind of bothers me at this point.

Mike Chang got airtime and I loved it. And everything about the Braniacs was A-W-E-S-O-M-E. The shot of Artie grinning after the category of "white rappers" was hilarious.

Santana has hidden daggers in her hair. She was so great in that scene I had to rewatch it. That confrontation was my favorite scene of whole episode by far because of her fierce amazingness.

The songs were so 'meh' for me. I feel like Tina gets cut off when she sings a lot, so I couldn't even tell if I liked her performance. Mercedes' was anticlimactic, and Holly did NOT need to be singing Adele. I mean, why did "Turning Tables' qualify for Night of Neglect anyway? Strange. And I will continue to feel that Paltrow's singing voice is severely overrated. Not a fan, personally.

Wemma returns! Loved it. Also loved Cheyenne Jackson (can't remember his character's name) mocking Schue - that man was hilarious. So was "I'm what they call predatory gay" Sandy, who I was stoked to see come back. MAN that character is funny. Poked by the Pink Dagger = priceless. Heck, I was even happy to see Terri, if for nothing more than her presence induced a reference from Sue of the honey badger youtube video. Plus she reminds me of the first half of season 1, which so far is my personal favorite stretch of the show.

I kind of missed Rachel this episode. She had a few scenes, but I missed her singing.

Re: Glee

I thought the episode was fine - just that, not bad, not great, but fine. I have to say I was hoping for more from both storylines, the "Night of Neglect" fundraiser and Sue's League of Doom. I'm not sure if any of the artists that were sung, by Tina, Holly, and Mercedes, actually are neglected. Tina did "I Follow Rivers" by Lykke Li, an artist I've only heard of over the last couple of days from hearing this song, I have no idea how long she has been around. Holly did "Turning Tables" by Adele, and Adele I have heard of, but I don't often hear people talk about her, so she very well could fit (but then, I'm not really a music person first, I'm a movie person first). And Aretha is most definitely not a neglected artist - sorry, Mercedes, you not singing an Aretha song every week doesn't make her so. And I hope Sue's plots become crazier or more ambitious than just sending in hecklers next time; kind of a weak start (although there were some very funny heckles, especially Sandy shouting "SHOW TUNES! SHOW TUNES! SHOW TUNES!" at Tina, and I did like Holly's speech to the hecklers). These aren't significant criticisms, just notes.

I love Gwyneth Paltrow on this show, and I do think she has a good voice, but I can understand the backlash to some extent, only because there's been so much press coverage telling us how amazed we all should be at her incredible singing. I thought she did a great job with "Turning Tables," though; that's the most impressed I've ever been with her voice, and I do think it's a really good one. It wasn't a great episode musically, though - even "Ain't No Way," which is a decent song and performed well, made me think they could have chose a better Aretha song to showcase Mercedes.

Some things that I loved about the episode:
-Having Sandy back (loved him referring to himself as "what you call a 'predatory gay'")
-What we saw of the Brainiacs (Brittany apparently being amazing with cat disease trivia, the cap-off of the Hermaphrodite Nazi sympathizers category, and especially Artie lucking out with the White Rappers category - I felt so happy for him! )
-Mike will never be on my list of favorite characters, but damn, the guy has serious moves.
-The Kurt/Blaine/Karofsky/Santana confrontation; I hope this isn't a one-off, I hope we see Santana force herself into this storyline some more. I'm guessing she didn't actually have razor blades in her hair, but really, would anyone be surprised if she did?
-Rachel and Mercedes' scene together in the car. I wouldn't want to her to be this way all the time, but I like when we see Rachel be human sometimes, with feelings and stuff.
-Love Becky as a heckler! Sue is really molding her into quite the henchmen. By the end of the series, she'll be a marvelous supervillain.

You know, when I was watching that scene, I thought right away, "Okay, I am going to read a lot of complaints over the interwebs that Tina keeps getting cut off." I'm pretty sure it's only happened twice, but they've both been really recently. And both of them were funny, but it would be nice to have her get a full number. However, unlike "My Funny Valentine," "I Follow Rivers" was done as a full studio number, so you can buy the single or listen to it for free in lots of places.

My problems:
-There seems to have been the intention to cleanly do a single episode hitting a bunch of "neglected" characters at once: Mercedes, Tina, Mike Chang... It kind of feels as if Murphy, Brennan, and Falchuk are walking off saying, "Okay, see? We do still know these characters exist!" Look, I'm not someone who always demands those characters get a lot more screentime, 'cause I feel this is a generally well-balanced ensemble, with the most interesting characters getting the most time, but I would like to see, say, Tina actually given some consistent characteristics, and maybe a Mercedes story that didn't have her just saying, "How are all of you huge stars while I'm given nothing to do here?!" (Her story this episode was sort of funny, but also pretty contrived.)
-The Will/Holly story played out, beat for beat, exactly as I expected: brief scene establishing that Will's maybe moving a little fast, serious about this while Holly is not, mini-argument with commitment problems surfacing, Holly informs Will that she has a teaching job (4 months max, of course) at another school and breaking things off, saying, "Come on, you know me, I can't settle down. Oh, also, Emma's still in love with you, and thanks to me breaking up her marriage, she's free and you should go for it." I would have liked to have seen an episode where we actually saw Will and Holly as a functioning couple before this one, but I didn't expect this to go on long, because...well, it's Gwyneth Paltrow.

Few other things:
-We haven't seen Jacob in a while. Jacob Ben Israel is not a character I would want to see that often, but in small doses, he's fun...Actually, fun might still not be the word.
-Also not enjoyable on a regular basis but "fun" in small doses: Terri. Bringing her on for a few shows at the end of a season is a good move, but I do not want her to become a regular again.
-I've seen that Sunshine has some big fans...I don't really get that. She's appeared in only two episodes now, and I know that Charice has a singing career outside Glee, and she has an awesome voice, and Sunshine has an appealing quality about her, a sweetness, but I don't see much of anything in that character that could warrant having fans (or haters, but still).

It was a somewhat disappointing episode for the first one after a break (a break that felt a lot longer than it was), a filler show, but it had some great moments. But hey, any episode with Sandy Ryerson AND Rod Remington can't be bad.

Re: Glee

for such a hiatus, i was really let down by the episode this week. I think they tried to shove too many side plots into one episode and there wasnt enough focus on one plot. Just too much going on and not really any memorable singing scenes, other than maybe sunshine's number, she has some pipes! Really wish rachel hadnt chased her away No kurt singing or blaine this week, They really need to get at the very least kurt back to the new directions, i miss him and his dynamic with the group.

Mercedes as a diva wsa fun but it seemed so out of character, Lauren is of course correct but i think they took it way too far, but im glad we got some rachel and mercedes bonding time in there, they are fun together.

The Sue side story was fun, but she didnt have her usual bite. She relied too much on others and i think that was her downfall this time!

Re: Glee

YES! Everything Spacecadet said.

I want to add that, while Sunshine can really sing, having her sing here was truly pointless. Everyone knew she'd bail on them, so I don't know why the number was there.

Re: Glee

I'm at the point where I'm not much interested in plot. Maybe because there hasn't been much plot lately. The music is still wonderful and that's what I watch the show for.

I just got my Glee Encore DVD today, so excuse me while I wallow in Glee Glory.

I was more surprised to see Kerfosky plot making an appearance to be honest. I did enjoy the episode and I very much enjoyed Palthrow's performances

Re: Glee

I LOVED Mike Chang's dance! That's what I've been waiting for.

Other than that, I thought this episode was a bit flat. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. The only moment that really stood out to me was the brief scene with Kurt, Blaine, Karofsky, and Santana.

Re: Glee

I didn't care too much for "A Night of Neglect." I felt bad for Tina. Her song was just....... second rate. Like others have said, it was a flat episode. Not much action, no plot progression (New Directions didn't even accomplish their goal of earning the money for Nationals). I did like Britney's burst of knowledge in the Braniacs' competition. That made me laugh. And Sandy (I think that's his name, the "Pink Dagger") was HILARIOUS. Maybe it's just my immature sense of humor, but I thought the fact that he was a medical marijuana dealer and that line about the laundered drug money at the end was pure hilarity. But that's just me.

Re: Glee

I thought the new episode was kind of meh. Wasn't boring, but it wasn't spectacular. My favorite parts were

A. Santana's scene with Blaine and Kurt.
B. "You just got poked. Poked by the Dagger"
C. Mike Chang's dance!!!!!!! I absolutely love Harry Shum Jr. and Mike Chang. The was my absolute favorite part of the episode and I watched it over and over again. I was smiling the whole time because I love dance and I love to dance and I thought this was the perfect breakout moment for Mike Chang. Although he's danced other times, this was just amazing.

I can't wait for the new one tonight!

Re: Glee

Glee used to be my favorite show. I loved season 1.
Season 2 isn't really moving me at any terms. I didn't like "A Night of Neglect" at all.

Re: Glee

Saying tonight's glee hit a high note is an understatement. I enjoyed 'Born This Way' as much as I enjoy season one glee. I FLIPPING LOVED THIS EPISODE. As soon as it finished I had a major freak-out and could not stop smiling!

I thought Santana was great in this episode and I love that she is the only blackmailing Karofsy. (I also love that they're being each others beards).
I feel pretty/Unpretty has to be my favourite part of this episode. Rachel and Quinn sounded beautiful, and the performance/scene was wonderfully shot. This goes down as one of my favourite glee songs and performances to date.
KURT IS FINALLY BACK AT MCKINLEY HIGH, and no matter how cheesy-licious it was, I cried during Somewhere Only We Know.
Kurt blew me away with his solo and this is on par with Rose's Turn for me, which is saying something.

I even enjoyed the 'Barbara Streisand' dance. I didn't think I was going to enjoy it, but it was a piece of fun and fit surprisingly well with the episode. (Didn't come anywhere near 'Safety Dance' though.

Born This Way - what a fitting and entertaining ending. I loved the white tops.

Lastly, but not least, Emma's storyline. Jayma deserves something for how she acted in this episode. She was believable and my heart really did break for her.

I really cannot wait for next week's episode. I'm interested to see all the Brittanna and Karfosky drama AND YAY, KURT IS ONCE AGAIN IN NEW DIRECTIONS.

Re: Glee

I loved the white shirts at the end. I about peed myself when I saw Sam's shirt did indeed say "Trouty Mouth". That ending when Emma finally showed her "OCD" shirt and Will in his "Butt Chin" shirt grabbed her hand and pulled her onstage to dance was awesome. "Likes Boys", "Can't Sing" - I loved them all! Those are the lovable misfits I know.

Anyone else so sick of/annoyed with the Quinn/Finn storyline? I must confess, I don't really care much about any of the relationships aside from Will and Emma, but it just does not make sense to me how he can justify getting together with the girl who cheated on him and had a baby with his best friend, but not Rachel. It just seems ridiculous and makes me hate the storyline even more.
