What non-canon ships do you still support?

Recently starting a thread about favorite canon couples got me thinking along the lines of.....non-canon couples!! Which ships were your favorite before Deathly Hallows came out, and which ones do you still openly or secretly support? Harry/Luna? Harry/Hermione? Draco/Hermione? Neville/Ginny? Neville/Luna? What do you like about these couples, and do you think they would have been better suited to each other than the couples who actually wound up together in the books? What personality traits or hints from the books make you think so?

I really liked Neville/Luna after reading OotPand HBP, then in DH, I liked Dean/Luna.
I would have loved Luna to end up with either Neville or Dean.

Oh yeah, I supported Neville/Luna for a long time. I wonder why JKR made Neville marry Hannah? That's so unexpected.

I guess I support anything that I can logically get my head around and makes a good story. I am really not one of those people really cares and I am quite sympathetic to the Sober Universe movement (Those who feel that the seven books only should be treated as Cannon rather then the books+Interviews). I have no problem for example if it's revealed that Audry is Audry Penelope Clearwater Weasley for example.

But Cannon is fine, I guess.

From a purely AU stand point I like Ron/Padma with Ron acting decent at the Yule Ball. I picture Ron with a smart girlfriend who encourages him, builds up his confidence and is willing to take the word of Luna Lovegood when she checks her galleon, putting her life on the line for him and his friends. A year later, Ron is a star keeper for Gryffindor, a better student, and is generally much more confident. He's also less willing to put up with Hermione Granger's superiority complex.

From a "Disappointed with the Interview Standpoint" I like Charlie/Cho and picture Cho disenchanted with England, much like Charlie. They elope to Romania and live happily away from the sister who goes around calling her brother's fiancee's "Phelm." Cho writes back to her family that she "married a Muggle" and promptly gets disowned.

From a Should have Been Cannon Standpoint I still like Harry/Luna. This is because they had actual really good conversations and Luna seems to comfort Harry in ways no one else can, understanding what it's like to be an outsider. It also means meaningful house Unity. Also, Ginny doesn't get the personality rewrite and ends up with Neville.

From a this so warped twisted it deserves mentioning just for the Jaw dropping *** value there is always Fluer/Hagrid.

Harry/Luna was one I thought would eventually happen. They seemed to talk to each other a lot, be friendly around each other, and Luna really seemed to comfort Harry when he was in the depths of his moodiness, sorrow, or anger. I still think it's a better match than Harry/Ginny, but we can't always get what we want, right?

I too was a huge supporter of Neville / Luna, but after I found out who JKR actually paired them with, I felt she had made the right decision. Although they'd be a really sweet couple together, their personalities are really quite different; I can see Luna's quirkiness upsetting Neville.

I always thought that Harry/Luna would be a good match, just because, like other people have said before me, that Luna understood Harry the best, and was able to get him out of his frequent funks. Harry also felt comfortable talking to Luna, and was able to talk about things, like Sirius, when he wouldn't talk to anyone else.

But after HBP, I can agree that Ginny is the best match for Harry because he takes her seriously. Harry always regards Luna as kind of a joke.

I also like the idea of Lupin/Lily, though in a very platonic way.

I was all for Luna/Neville. She was always nice and accepting towards him which I thought was sweet. But I also wouldn't mind Luna/Harry. She was the only one that broke through to him after Sirius' death and was really just always there to help or cheer him up, I suppose. Or maybe I'm just biased, I always liked Luna way more than Ginny.

When I read Order of the Phoenix, I was sure that Harry and Luna would end up together.. I was really, really fond of that idea. Then after Half-Blood Prince, I knew I was fighting a losing battle, so I was all for Neville and Luna. I was really dissappointed when they didn't end up together; I thought I was right for sure about them.

i love Neville/Luna, and i totally thought it was canon. until i found out Neville hooked up with Hannah Abbott and Luna married Rolf Scamander or whatever his name is. :P
