Good Day Everyone,

I'm sorry to say that CoS Forums is going to shut down in the Summer, sometime around July. This isn't an early April Fools joke either.

The Forums have become quite expensive to run and manage. There's a lot (LOT) less traffic coming to the site these days as Harry Potter becomes less of a topical debate for people.

I held on for a while after the last film, wondering whether JK would announce anything surprising, but I find that even if she did it wouldn't serve to help the diminishing numbers on the site or my bank balance!

Myself, I've been absent a lot more in the past year as personal issues have taken over and I've had to work longer hours, to earn more money to keep the forums going as well as pay for things like rent, utilities and god knows what else.

Some of you will be sad and I'm sure others will be happy. I'm not doing this lightly and I could have closed the site last year but held off. I know this may upset some of you who've come to see this place as a haven with friends and I'm very sorry it has to go but I've kept this place going with money out of my own pocket for 10 years now and it's no longer financially viable to do so. Please understand that this is not an easy decision!

Some of you may wish to offer to help, to donate or even take on the site. Whilst I would listen to any suggestions, I will not accept donations as this would be unsustainable in the long-term. If you wanted to take on CoS, be aware that you would need to find $200 per month and to be honest with you all I'm not sure I'm prepared to let the site be taken over by anyone. I've created a thread for comments. The other staff know only as much as the above. There is no Plan B as far as they are concerned, so do not pester them for answers to questions. If they do not know, they are being totally honest.

Many thanks to everyone who for the last 10+ years have worked in one way or another on the site. All the staff, past and present who gave their time and energy to making the community work. Every single person gave their time for free and were never paid for their efforts. It was a labor of love for all.
Many thanks to the members, those who came & went and dared to stay. Every single one of you who contributed to the site, to the discussions and events. You were the ones who made the site what it became, from the all the book releases to the heated, sometimes famous debates about all sorts of topics. You made CoS what it was. So thank you.

My fears are very complex and have nothing to do with death or things that could kill me (except potentially the last one). Therefore, a boggart would have a tough time with me. However, if it could choose a form, it'd be just about impossible for me to picture anything funny about it and it'd probably drive me mad in the end.

In the end, a boggart would choose one of the following forms for me:

1. The bodies of two friends I've had who each died at 19- one was my fault and I've been having nightmares about that for years, and I failed to be there for the final month of the other when she died of cancer last October.

2. Either a person I value most at the present time or valued most in the past, telling me they really never cared about me and that it was all a prank.

3. My own body enduring the ravages of an incurable illness I have had surgery for that may be returning. What that illness can do to my body and make it feel is my most intense physical fear.

Mine'd be a centipede. They just have too many legs...and the way they crawl... *shivers* They are the creepiest things to walk this Earth (along with millipedes, and those are worse...)

My boggart would be my second grade teacher. I cannot do math properly, because she never explained math. i missed a lot of school due to tonsilitis and when I got back, she didn't go over what I missed.

I believe I would see myself, or a version of myself that portrays possibilities of who I could be and am afraid to become.

Mine would be a clown and not just any clown, the clown from the Stephen King movie "IT" terrifies me the most. Although I am scared of all clowns.

so i just saw this now. not sure if youre gonna read it or not but ill explain anyway.

at my dads house we used to live in an apartment above the garage until we could switch with the renters in the house and there were ladybugs everywhere. crawling on the ceiling, dead lady bugs filling every single crack. it was disgusting. so ever since then ive hated lady bugs and once while at my friends house one landed on my and i freaked out and almost started crying....lol which is weird for me cuz most bugs dont freak me out....

so yeah thats my story.

The infected from 28 Days Later, a british zombie film. Always had a phobia of zombies, probably stemmed from my mother playing Resident Evil around me when I was little. It terrified me.

I have two fears clowns and moths...well things that fly at your face. So a flying clown would be scary.

To defeat my boggart i would pop it like a balloon catch it in a glass and put it outside.
