Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
After the mark is touched, Harry feels a surge of intense pain, and apparently Wormtail lets out "a fresh howl." I could go either way on this, but I took it to mean "another howl of pain," and likely from the fact that his hand was a bloody stump (perhaps to remind Voldemort that he did need a hand, if he wouldn't very much mind).

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
Do we know what Malfoy did with Riddle's diary after Harry threw it to him in the sock?

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
Didn't Dumbledore have it on his desk in HBP, or was that just in the film?

I was wondering about that too, but I think it was just in the film.

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
That's just the film, me thinks. But I'm sure in HBP the book Dumbledore only mentions it as the horcrux Harry had destroyed.

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
You are correct, the book was only a conversation in HBP. In COS, the book ended up back with Lucius wrapped in a smelly sock, as Harry asked Dumbledore if he could give the diary back to Lucius.

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
That's what I thought. I know Voldemort was angry with Lucius about it when he returned but I didn't know whether he was angry because Lucius had used the diary or because he saw it was destroyed. I assumed it was because a horcrux had been destroyed but I don't know how he'd have known that unless he'd seen the diary in its punctured state.

He'd have asked Lucius what happened to the diary and then performed Legilimency on him.

Which makes me think, did Voldemort ever acknowledge that that horcrux had been destroyed?

I doubt to anyone else, only himself.

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
Did Lucius actually ever receive the diary? I realize Harry gave it to Dobby with the sock inside, but from then on I believe Dobby returned it to Dumbledore or something of the sort. If not, then how did Dumbledore end up with the book in HBP?

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
That was in the movie. In the book Harry put the diary inside the sock, which Lucius threw aside (and unbeknownst to him, right at Dobby). Dobby never held the diary. Also, I believe DD having the book in HBP was also only in the movie.

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
I figured that was included in the 16 yrs of information Snape gave to Voldemort in GoF.

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
In HBP, when Harry was learning about Voldemort's boyhood, Dumbledore asked Harry if he was feeling sorry for Tom Riddle. Harry answered "no". But why shouldn't anyone feel sorry for Tom?

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
Yeah I thought so. I could remember the conversation that Dumbledore had with Harry about it, but I just had that picture in my mind of Dumbledore examining it at his desk.

Re: Little Questions Answered v.18
I knew it was from the movie, but I wasn't sure if it was included in the book as well. Thank you for clarifying.

Parvati Patil a true seeer?
Parvati came back down the ladder glowing with pride. "She says I've got all the makings of a true Seer," she said. "I saw loads of stuff… Well, good luck!" |

Hard to say... Parvarti clearly admired Prof. Trelawney.
