Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part Two [incl. SPOILERS]

The screenshots are from the documentary with the Goblet of Fire ultimate edition. It's real. What's really interesting about these documentaries (I have all four so far) is that you get a wealth of behind the scenes footage I've never seen from all the films and with the four released so far, you get a lot of behind the scenes footage of Deathly Hallows.

I'm curious to see how much more we get when the next two ultimate editions are released.

I'm going to try to resist this time as well. I really want to enjoy this film and not be such a book purist like I was this time around. I really want to enjoy the movie for exactly what it is.

That said, I'm off to an awful start resisting and restricting what I know about the film 'cos I definitely watched that clip. It was a super cute clip and just makes me feel for poor Emma and Rupert! On-screen kisses are probably awkward enough, on-screen kisses with a big brother/best friend type are even worse, on-screen kisses that have been hyped up and which a worldwide fanbase have been waiting for for years has to be even worse. Anyway, the clip definitely made me laugh, though I have to ask, to anyone who watched the video clip (I'm not sure if I need spoiler tags in a spoiler thread, but I figured I'd do them for anyone that did not watch the clip or view the photos):

Spoiler: show
is anyone mildly disappointed that it appears they're removing the spontaneity of the kiss? It seemed very much like they were slowly leaning in - that is before they burst into laughter - as opposed to Hermione just running at him. I know it's pretty hard to read much from that brief clip ,but that was the impression I got. I'm sure it will still be "quite a snog", but in addition to being in a different venue it looks like a completely different kind of kiss. Ah well. I'm sure it will be amazing. It's just nice to know in advance how different it will be. (Must remove pg 625 description from my head when I watch the film!)

I hope Ron gets to be the hero in this scene. I do wonder how the kiss will be initiated. From that video, Hermione doesn't impulsively jump on top of him, like in the books, which means that it is likely that there actually is an exchange beforehand, maybe a consolidation of their feelings for each other

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part Two [incl. SPOILERS]

I sincerely hope that loose ends will be tied up in Part 2. It's the last effort for cast and crew to bring us the perfect conclusion to the franchise and with that in mind I hope they go all out on the darkness and the emotion. They have to get The Prince's Tale spot on as Snape is such a fascinating, vital character in the series and he deserves the ending so perfectly written in the novel on screen. Would love to see 'Here lies Dobby - a free elf' in the opening of Part 2 though they did wrap Dobby's death up beautifully at the end of Part 1. I also hope that Desplat will give us the score to top all Harry Potter scores. I was a little hesitant coming into Part 1 having only heard Desplat's score in fragments but it works brilliantly conveying all the right emotions in Part 1 that surely Desplat can handle the grand scale and levels of emotion in the final chapter. Hoepfully the acting of the trio will continue to improve as much as did in Part 1 as well. July can't come sooner.

Ok, so I'm definitely sure this shot wasn't in the film:

Dragon flight?:

Nor do I think it was a deleted scene, because it doesn't show the trio walking, nor do I think it's Voldemort's POV while flying, so my only guess is that this is during the dragon flight in Part 2.

I can totally see it being like a Will and Elizabeth in POTC 3,where they talk about still loving each other, minus the marriage part of course...although wouldnt that be a twist!!!!

and btw, we BETTER get a Ron/Hermione theme!!!!!!!

Is anyone else here not looking forward to this film being in 3D? I was really excited when the news came out that DH1 would not be playing in 3D. I'm not a fan of the new wave of 3D films at all, but perhaps I am alone.

I don't think you'll have to see it in 3-D. I'm pretty sure there is always a 2-D option.

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part Two [incl. SPOILERS]

I think I'll use your questions as a good starting point, mexicant.

1. In light of the way the story was condensed for the first movie, is it your opinion that the second will do the original story justice?

"As a matter of fact, yes. They might cut some things I wouldn't like to see cut, but in the end the main issue will be whether I like how part II is presented as a film. I'm not so uncertain that I can approve of the changes that will be made to the plot, but more uncertain of whether they will handle the emotional storylines in a film style or with an editing which works for me personally. I'm not a big fan of lots of effects with explosions or drawn out battle scenes for instance and wouldn't like it if such aspects of the story are allowed to dominate the film."

3. "After seeing the first film, do you think that there will be plot holes in the second or do you think that things will be resolved nicely?"

"Personally I always think you can find plot holes in a film, if you're concerned about such issues, but it's not something I focus on. In my experience, if there are no perceived plot holes, I find that you're usually dealing with films that are very simple or films that try to explain themselves so carefully that you a) weaken the emotional part of the story or b) leave too little freedom for the audience to make their own interpretation".

In a new deathly Hallows Behind the scenes video there is an interview with David Heymen and there's a bunch of pica hanging on the wall behind him and you can see what looks like Ron and Hermione about to kiss!

Two pictures over from that shot of Ron and Hermione. Is that image of Hermione and Harry looking at the mirror from DH part 1? I don't remember it. If not, it could be Part 2. Or just a cut scene?

I was thinking about how Wormtail didn't get his little "redemption" in Part 1 and is still alive and I had a rather scary thought. What if they are saving his little redemption for when Harry wakes up after being AKed by Voldy? Maybe Voldy sends Wormtail to check if he's dead instead of Narcissa? I really hope they don't do this, because I thought Narcissa betraying Voldemort for the sake of the love of her son was BRILLIANT writing by JKR. Shows once again how Voldy's lack of understanding and inability when it comes to love is his downfall.

picture's a bit blurry, but yep, it's definitely them.

don't know whether to feel even more excited, or whether to give myself a good kick up the backside for peeking.

Here's a screencap someone took on LJ. It's really blurry, though, because it's in the background.

Ron & Hermione kiss?:

That's about as much as I plan to see with their kiss. I want that scene to be a complete surprise

Narcissa's actress said that she had a favorite scene she did in Part 2, and she felt it is one of her best scenes. It is believed to be that it is her scene where she checks Harry. Though I can't remember where the quote is.

That's in part 2. The pic is online somewhere. They're in what looks like the Hog's Head

Re: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part Two [incl. SPOILERS]

I'll probably be staying out of this thread when the movie comes closer. After seeing Part 1, I was disappointed that I knew what was coming SO many times. None of the scenes that were supposed to be surprising did not surprise me. I knew where it was going to end and that also wasn't fun. [obviously i'll know where part 2 will end but still.]

I usually dont mind spoilers, but there was just so many this time around that I wasn't surprised by anything [almost.]

Aside from that....JULY IS WAY TOO FAR AWAY! I can't believe we have to wait so long to finish out this amazing movie. :'[

Well why bother with the silver hand if not to have Pettigrew die by it. Maybe Wormtail will be in Hogsmeade when the trio apparate there and Pettigrew will be the one to catch them, but then hesitate and strangle himself. Total speculation, I know, but one can hope!

You are not alone. 3D gives me headaches. And I don't like the idea that things are filmed to they come out at you (like the Nagini attacks). However, I would recommend the Imax version. Same as 2D just great sound and bigger screen.
