I was just watching the old Deathly Hallows BTS featurette "The Story". Here:

And I forgot how much Behind the scenes of Deathly Hallows Part 2 was shown. Did we figure out what gate that was at 1:50?

I thought it was a gate in Hogsmeade, but now I am not so sure. What did that gate that Luna and Harry walk through in HBP look like? Any resemblence?

ETA: Nevermind, it is the Hogsmeade gate. The snow is a dead giveaway, cause it the only place where there will be snow in the movie.

It is just that Snape could flee the great hall after Harry enters and then the students could evacuate and the professors start setting up protection. This would cut out the duel unless it is a very brief exchange of fire in the great hall.

I could see it as this; Snape has his speech to the students, then Harry interrupts his speech. Snape pursues Harry only to be held off by McGonagall and the others. Snape/McGonagall duel erupts as Harry is held back by others or distracted by Luna ( I wonder if this is the point where she has to yell at him to get his attention.)

The question may be where are the Carrows by this scene? They're most probably leaving out is the scene where Harry uses Crucio.

If Snape's speech takes place after Harry finds the diadem, then The carrows have already been dispensed and Voldemort has been beckoned. Perhaps Snape is announcing to the hall that he is aware Potter is at the school somewhere and the Dark Lord intends on coming to face him (simultaneously warning the students and teachers of what is to come.)

The hard part to figure out is now when/where McGonagall duels Snape but when/where this Speech is to take place and what it's use in the film is other than giving Harry a dramatic re-enter .

I really hope the scene where Harry uses the cruciatus curse on one of the Carrows is in the film. It was one of my favorite moments of all the books, because I could feel the fury Harry felt at them for spitting in Mcgonnagal's face. It was definitely a cheering moment for me when I read the book.

Okay i found a commercial and it does say never before seen footage but none of the footage on the commercial is new. It is all stuff from the both parts trailer. I am still hoping.

I think they did last time though for the commercial. They showed the trio by a the bale of hay and i think some shots of Fleur and Bill dancing at the wedding. It came out on a commercial a few days before the weekend i think.

Yes, but last time, this was after trailers and footage had already been out. Since we don't have a new trailer, they are sticking with stuff we already seen... until the featurettes show of course.

Though, you may be right perhaps. We may get something... but I think they'll wait until the featurettes. We are so antsy for anything, we don't need much.... oomph .... to want to see it.
