I doubt fans would be disappointed in an encyclopedia if it includes thing like maps of hogwarts and character biographies that include new information.

Maybe we can leave the conspiracy theories out of the discussion, too? I'm all in favour of it. And I would kindly ask everyone not to make assumptions about what other fans feel, think, do etc. Personally, I'd rather remove posters from this area than close this thread but both scenarios are likely if you guys cannot play nice, as mexicant asked you to.

I completely disagree.

I know tons of people that are waiting for the encyclopedia. It is the only thing (well apart from Pottermore now) that we fans can expect Jo to write sometime in the future whenever that might be. If we were told that there would be an announcement about the encyclopedia that we had to miss sleep for, I am certain that the majority of the fandom would.

Just because you might not be looking forward to the likely future encyclopedia doesn't mean the rest of the fandom aren't.

I'll agree to disagree with you about both of these things. We do agree in so much that she relied on HP Lexicon although you believe it was only because she just didn't have her notes on her and you take her at her word. I don't feel like digging up her interviews, but even with that statement.. ehh I don't think it matters.

I'd be happy with an encyclopedia but I'd really prefer it in book form, so it's not high on my list of things I want Pottermore to be.

Another 2.5 hours to go... been reading Philosopher's Stone, and they just arrived at Hogwarts. Feeling tired and a bit delirious though.

I am still confused what exactly will happen when the countdown reaches 0. Will the video appear out of nowhere on the page? Maybe an owl will deliver an envelope and when you click it a video starts!?

Well on Tuesday the owls appeared without refreshing the page but yesterday I had to refresh to get the new owls. I reckon the best bet is to sit on the site of a couple of seconds if nothing happens refresh. Do we think it will be on that page or will it link us to another?

Fingers and toes all crossed for the servers but I think they will have plans of action in place.

It might even be a livestream, some of the papers said she was doing the announcement from the Victoria and Albert Museum in south-west London.
