Yeah, just saw them. It's tricky. Makes you think like you're on youtube.

Those who do not see it, should try Internet Explorer, because in Firefox doesn't work for me.

have a look again. thats for the status update! there's two times on the page...the first one is the creation date for the account.

go to the rubber on the desk that says "?" then it'll take you to the door, turn the wee handles on the timeturner to get to todays date then press the circle bit of the timeturner. its been there since atleast 2008 though.

You won't see the owls in Firefox. Use IE instead.
Or clear cookies and stuff. Worked for me.

Also, I am using Mozilla Firefox, and 2 owls have appeared flanking the text in the middle (one barn owl on the left, a screech owl on the right).

The countdown on the YouTube page ("J.K. Rowling's Announcement") has a countdown clock, currently reading ~6 days and 15 hours until J.K. Rowling's Announcement. I believe that makes it 7:00 a.m. GMT on June 23?

Anyway, this is all very exciting. I am at the point that I do not really care what it is. It simply means more Harry Potter (or are we saying "Harry Potter more" now?), which I cannot refuse!

Also, the Pottermore Twitter has been updated (at 4:00 p.m. GMT):

Alright, I see the owls using Google Chrome.

The YouTube page is weird though. It says "The owls are gathering... Find out why soon" but also says it was uploaded by the user J. K. Rowling on Feb 4, (no year). There are also apparently 50 videos up but I can't click on the link to see what they are. It's also frozen at 0:09 into a 1:13 min video. This is all very strange.

It's nice to know when the announcement is coming, so I'm not obsessively checking the computer every few minutes. I just wish it was sooner because the suspense is killing me. It's a little mean to get us all excited and then make us wait a week!

everything under the youtube stuff at the top (logo/search bar/links/login stuff) is flash, you can't click on any of the links that you'd be able to on any other youtube channel. it's not the actual youtube site layout just content that looks like youtube, and it's hosted on youtube since it's at youtube.com.

I'm getting "Peeves woz ere!" showing up in the mirror on JKR's website in that room with the time turner of today's date. Is that of any signficance?

And I agree, capella_black, the whole frozen position of the Owls videos and JKR uploading it apparantly on 4th of Feb and us not being able to click on anything else is very strange...I'm sure each little thing has been well planned out- a mystery for us Potter fans to work out!

The peeves bit doesn't mean anything, that's from years ago I believe when you had to find all the clues on the site.
