Re: When Did You Start Wearing Makeup?
I never wore makeup in school except for the prom. And I hated wearing it even then. I was allowed to but I just never wanted to. I never saw a point in it, I believe people should be happy with the way they look naturally. Now I can understand if you have a birth mark or a scar that you'd like to hide (even then I wouldn't) but other than that I think we should be happy with the way we were created.

Re: When Did You Start Wearing Makeup?
I started wearing it lightly when I was about 14/15, only when I was at school. A few years later when I went to college and stopped because finding make up that doesn't aggravate my face is a nightmare and I just couldn't be bothered.
Then only time I wear it now is when I'm going out in town or if there a formal occasion.

Re: When Did You Start Wearing Makeup?
Wow, apparently I'm a really late bloomer.
![]() I didn't start wearing makeup makeup (the shadows, blushes, foundations, liners, mascaras) on a day to day basis until I was in my early twenties. Before that I only wore concealer on a day to day basis and makeup makeup on really special occassions - prom and my sister's wedding (and I thought I looked way overdone, not like myself and that it looked really artificial). IMO, wearing make up isn't about plastering your face with colors and making yourself look like a drag queen or like you're about to go on stage, make up is meant to enhance your natural beauty. For that reason I still go pretty light on makeup day to day (eye shadows in a gold-brown range [occassionally purple], powder eye liner on the upper lid only, mascara on upper lashes only and concealer). My goal is to look like a fresh, awake version of myself and not like the walking dead I look like with a washed face. If you don't want to wear makeup, don't let yourself be peer pressured into it. It's okay to do your own thing. If you want to start experimenting with makeup I'd start with some pretty, natural eye shadows (in the pink to brown ranges depending on your complexion - pink doesn't look good on me, I've got a lot of yellow in my complexion) and mascara, perhaps some concealer if you've got under eye circles or acne going on, and, frankly, look up some youtube videos on creating natural or youthful makeup looks. The one thing I'd steer clear of at your age is fully lining your eyes with black eyeliner - nothing looks as garrish or wrong as a young girl with heavy, dark liner!
