I have also clicked the "Forgot password" thing but that has not worked for me, only the "Forgot username" thing works and I get the email saying that an account is registered under my email address.. It's so frustrating since I was so exited about getting early to Pottermore but I guess I will just wait for the 48 hours to pass and then try again the following day unless the clue comes up when I'm working..

I didn't think it was hard. I just thought it was more difficult than the other challenges I've seen.

The other challenges looked super-easy to me. But prior to skimming the Diagon Alley chapter before the clue went up, I hadn't remembered the name of the place that sold owls or where to find it in Diagon Alley. And the description is so brief that it would be easy to miss if you were were skimming in a high state of excitement - which I thankfully was not doing because I had already done my homework.

The other clues seemed more like finding the broad sign of a barn.

Re: Pottermore v7

Am I the only person who found the first clue the easiest? :') If I had slept on Sunday I definitely wouldn't be in by now from the other clues.

Haha, thank you for your reply as well! I shall keep trying! I mean, it couldn't hurt right? XD
Maybe it would help to clean out your cache.

Today it was on guardian.co.uk on an article about pottermore!

That would be awesome if it was on Jo's site. I LOVE her site and would love to see the quill finding on there. Now I'm even more psyched to find the rest of the quills! Great idea!

It seems like precautions will be taken on members under 18... I registered with my real birth date, saying that I'm 17. I'm worried they may cut me off from some of the site's features. Maybe I should register another account tomorrow as an 18-year-old and see the difference? I would hate to be marred by child safety precautions.

I doubt they'd keep you from anything as a 17 year-old. This is not an "adult" series by any means, so 18+ shouldn't be an issue.

you could do this as well in october, w/o blocking an account. And under 18 it only will have restrictions in how to spent real money/ order stuff.

If you read the terms of use carefully, you'll see that some parts of the site are blocked only for minors who are not older than 13.

Reading the child safety help section does seem to indicate some limitations for those under 18. Like you say though, I can't see them being severe as this is young adult series. It sounds like most of the restrictions will apply to those under 13. If you do decide to make another account, I would delete the other just in case that will allow someone else another spot on days 5-7.

I would think that the major difference between a 17 year old and someone over 18 would be marketing or sales or privacy concerns. But I wouldn't think it would change your experience as a beta tester. The e-books and other things for sale begin in October, when the site opens to the public. So it shouldn't affect your experience very much, if at all, during the beta period.

So, does that mean the bullets under the section for under 18 are just safety precautions of the entire site that they are pointing out to put parents minds at ease? Not added limitations to those under 18?

My sister is 12 and so I was wondering that if she doesn't get to see stuff that might not be suitable for her because she's not older than 13, will she see the stuff when she turns 13? Our ages must change on Pottermore on our birthdays if we gave our birth dates, right?

Re: Pottermore v7

This has probably been asked already, but what was the 3rd Clue?

How many points Gryffindor was leading by when Harry caught the snitch in the match against Slytherin. Multiply by 35.

My guess would be yes.
