Actors voices

Have you ever noticed how some actors have very distinctive voices?? How voices can either make a part or break it for them? I have a few whose voices I absolutely love.

- Bill Nighy
- Alan Rickman (especially in Sense and Sensibility, he just sounds sexy in that part.)
- Jim Parsons
- Jeremy Irons (my favorite, the Lion King... oh my)

Is there anyone who comes to your mind???

Peter Sarsgaard
Ron Perlman
James Earl Jones
Cole Hauser

All five have very distinctive voices that I absolutely adore listening to.

Wait a moment, Rickman recites poems?

Johnny Depp, of course. There's something about this man's voice that is just...well let's just leave it at that.

Oh, I'm such a sucker for voices. An average looking guy is so much more attractive if he has a great voice.

The voice . . .

Also Alan Rickman, Morgan Freeman. I know there are others that I'm just not remembering right now. I'll have to come back and update later.

Re: Actors voices

David Tennant. Beautiful, expressive voice. And I'm still amazed at how he masters it... What I'd give for seeing him on stage (sigh).

Alan Rickman, of course. Deep, deep bass.

Christopher Lee, even deeper bass.

The actress that played Moaning Myrtle (I don't remember her name). I'm terrible for faces, but when she appeared in a Doctor Who episode I immediately recognized her by her voice.

Liam Neeson has a beautiful voice, too.

If you EVER get the chance to see David Tennant on stage then GO!!! He is awesome! We had tickets to see Hamlet but DT had done his back in and we got the understudy which was a big disappointment. 2.5 years later my younger daughter and I got to see him in Much Ado about Nothing and he was amazing!

And he came out and signed autographs for ages - my daughter got her picture taken with him - he was such a nice bloke.....

Re: Actors voices

Morgan Freeman. Amazing, lingering voice. When I read Shawshank Redemption, the narration was completely in his voice, in my mind.

Matt Damon
Jeremy Irons
Alan Rickman
Johnny Depp
Morgan Freeman
James Earl Jones

They all have distinct voices and I wouldn't mind having one or all narrate my life story.

Just what I was thinking!

I agree with the ones you guys all mentioned: Alan Rickman, Morgan Freeman, Johnny Depp, etc.

Also: Michael J. Fox (but that might just be because I've watched so many of his movies so many times I'd recognize his voice anywhere ), and Helena Bonham Carter.

Same here .

Add:

Jack Nicholson

I can recognize his voice coming from a mile away.

Re: Actors voices

This reminds me of a debate my boyfriend and I have all the time. We always debate who would we love to narrarate a day of our lives. I have no idea how we came up with this, but it keeps us entertained. Some we have both mentioned and usually agree upon: Morgan Freeman, Alan Rickman, Kevin Spacey, James Stewart, Dean Martin, Gary Oldman, Patrick Stewart, Christopher Walken, Helen Hunt (I love her voice for some reason), Helena Bonham Carter, and Clint Eastwood. I'm sure there are others that I'm failing to remember at the moment.

Re: Actors voices

I am rather fond of the following actors' voices:
- Jeremy Irons
- James Earl Jones
- Liam Neeson
- Stephen Fry
- Bill Nighy
- Alan Cumming (I love his accent )

Other people who have distinctive voices that are perfect for certain roles:
- Gilbert Gottfried: the guy who did the voice for Iago in Disney's Aladdin
- Wallace Shawn: he played in Princess Bride and he also did the voice for Grand Nagus Zek of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. Very distinct voice that was perfect for the part.
