Although if you describe yourself as a bit weird & complex, Ravenclaw seems a good fit; they like unusual people (if I recall my welcoming speech correctly!).

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff...

Have you gotten any emails from Pottermore yet? Have you checked your junk mail filter?

Mine came about 12 hours after signing up. Though I didn't find it for another 8 hours. I didn't see it because it was parsed to a different folder than my Inbox--even though I received the first confirmation email in that folder. If you're in gmail, try looking in the All folder.

I'm just having a little bit of a Hogwarts identity crisis right now, and I don't know which House I really belong in. I got sorted into Gryffindor on CoS. Ravenclaw on Pottermore. And most of the random online sorting quizzes I take give me Hufflepuff. But I have gotten a few Gryffindors, Ravenclaws, and Slytherins. Not to mention one (I kid not) Ravenpufferin. I somehow got equal amounts in Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin. Whatttt? I don't know. I have trouble with all personality quizzes. I feel like there's too much stuff in my brain to sort out into neat little boxes and I'm too weird and complex to fit in only one category.
I honestly think I would be a hat stall too. Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. But in Pottermore, I got Sorted into Gryffindor. Some of the options were fairly obvious, and I...uh...may have chosen them just to get into Gryffindor. I know, I know, I'm a horrible person. BTW, my name is UnicornSeeker8718. I just joined today and finished the first book. Will practice on my potions (which is horrible) and duelling.

Not specifically, but Pottermore's code is extremely buggy and if I spend much time on the site I have to clear my cache, or there are some websites which won't work properly for me.

I never have any of these problems. I am, however, using the latest Firefox on a Mac. Maybe the bugginess and exploits show up more on PC and/or other browsers?

BTW, a reader of my blog confirmed that cauldrons do still explode, complete with loss of points - but that they do not explode any longer in the practice potion.

Currently using Firefox 12 on a Windows 7 OS. I think many of the issues with Pottermore (having the tab open but Pottermore accusing you of trying to speed up the time) have to do with poor coding. That being said, if your flash player isn't updated or your available memory isn't sufficient, your computer may have difficulties with the site.

Re: Pottermore v.11

Has anybody had problems with their account getting hacked?

I just went to log in there and despite putting the correct details in, I'm being told they're incorrect. I've tried the password reset link, but I've received no email from them, which makes me think the account might have been stolen or hacked.

I had 2200 odd house points built up as well... raging.

Don't know if that's a hack. Could be just a glitch, I just went to check and it happened to me too. It didn't accept my name and password.

Last time this happened, I just waited a couple of hours and everything was fine. So just wait and try again before doing something potentially drastic

Cheers.

I'll try later on and see if it works then.

I was in earlier, warming up to do some dueling and when I went to challenge someone, my entire list wa gone and it wouldn't let me challenge either. Then it kicked me out. Perhaps it's back up now?

If you're getting that black invisibility cloak error, try this link:

https://www.pottermore.com/en/signin...uel/gryffindor

My dueling list has been deleted as well. They seem to remove it at random times.

I think they remove it periodically to save bandwidth. I lost mine yesterday or the day before, but I could still duel.

Haven't tried today yet.

Re: Pottermore v.11

Some of the pages are very slow loading. I tried to collect objects on the Forbidden Forest page but the little progress wheel just kept going around and around and around...

Not enough time is given for the potion making either, especially considering the slow loading issues.

Re: Pottermore v.11

Interesting article from the CEO, who took over Pottermore in November:

http://www.hypable.com/2012/04/24/po...don-book-fair/

Perhaps what he said is:

1.) Pottermore has great potential.
2.) My predecessor didn't built what I would have.
3.) Pottermore is a disappointment as it stands but I'm going to change that.
4.) We're going to speed up the release of the other notes on the site.
5.) Traffic to the site is good and we need to take advantage of that opportunity.
6.) People mainly go to the site to read JKR's notes.
7.) We're going to release an extended version of the books.
8.) We're going to use social media to get more people to the site, and we're going to make it easier for Potterheads to socialize on the site.

He also seems to be saying:
1) He wasn't responsible for the site we see. He took over Pottermore somewhere around November.
2) He admits the site is disappointing.
3) He knows why fans go to the site (the notes)
4) He wants to release the rest of the book notes and site functions ASAP, instead of piecemealing them over an extended period of time.
5) He wants to make it easier for Potterheads to talk to each other via Pottermore.

I think fans want more info from JKR, they want more activities (as i posted previously, I could see Quiddich, Wizard's Chess, Chocolate Frogs, etc. if you know the correct URL, but I haven't checked this in several months) and they want better interacting. Part of the issue as I see it, though, is the fact that it's huge membership makes it less personal. There's less room for creativity, personal attention, individual recognition, writing, taking classes, perhaps even teaching classes, which some forums offer.

If the CEO carries through, Pottermore can be great, but there's still a place for other forums, IMHO.

Re: Pottermore v.11

Thanks for posting that report of what the CEO of Pottermore has to say about Pottermore. I am most excited to hear that they are going to release a lot of new JKR content, and we won't have to wait a long time for it. I'm curious to see what new activities they have planned for the future.

The CEO claims that they are going to broaden the social experience. I know that one welcome change would be to have better chat areas. It is really hard for someone to ask for help when they can't figure out how to do something on the site. People ask questions and may never see the answers. And having a conversation would be nice, too.

Pottermore should have an official forum. In a similar model to this one.
