Well, I heard it was Harry Potter and the Forest or Fortress of Shadows, but it was just a rumor, and usually rumors are wrong anyway. Your name, well, I hope you are joking because that is a very plain name, no offense, because JK is more creative than that.

i think the "fate of the magical world" is a bit dramatic.. jkr usually doesnt reveal too much of the plot in the titles of the stories (yeah yeah, i know ss and cos, but the other 3...) i believe it will come down to the idea of the fate of the magical world, but i dont think she would use anything that broad

JK Rowling replies -> I sat in a hotel room after a row with my then boyfriend and invented it. Looking back, I can understand why I liked the idea of Bludgers.

How come no one can tell when people are joking??

Anyway... I think it would be cool if it were Harry Potter and the Siege of Hogwarts... that would kind of give things away... but if the whole 7th book was about that, I think it would be cool haha

Harry Potter and the Temple of Doomenters
In this book Harry teams up with Indianna Jones in a violent struggle for his soul...(did you see what I did to the title? get it? ha hmm...)
Moving swiftly on... as for the real title it's anyones guess isn't it? Could be anything.

I think she'll call it simply Harry Potter and the last chapter will be called, 'the new beginning'.

Yeah JK always ends with "The Beginning" or "The Second War Begins" haha. I guess it's a good way to do it because it always makes people feel as if something is starting and not ending (the book). Then we're all excited for the next one.

Anyone else notice how books 2,3,4, and 5 all have OF in their titles? I guess the trend will continue now. It would have been better if they were called "The Secretive Chamber", "Azkaban's Prisoner", "The Fiery Goblet", and "The Order Known as Phoenix". Haha, just kidding.

I just talked to JKR on the phone and she told me book 7 is called Harry Potter and The Sword of Gryffindor.

It allways seems like the titles refer to a thing. This last book took a slightly different turn when the "thing" refered to was a group of people, all the other ones have been abjects more or less (a chamber is kinda an object, but at least it is not alive). I think that first trend will probably continue.

Harry Potter and the Really Really Really Long Book......maybe?

Aberforth D, SS is technically an OF book as well, because a possesive noun is just a shortening of OF, so it would be called the Stone of the Soceror. :P Did you really talk to JK. :P

I've heard several names for the 6 & 7 Harry Potter:
Chariot of Lights
Green Flame Torch
Fortress/Forest of Shadows

Personally, Harry Potter and the Green Flame Torch sounds a bit like Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

I think 'Harry Potter and the Chariot of Lights' would be a cool name for the book, but it's a little hard to predict considering we don't know much about the upcoming books.

I totally agree with you Witflick!!! When I first heard the Green Flame Torch I was thinking: ****, that sounds just like GoF!! However, I heard that it was NOT going to be the Green Flame Torch (but that's just for Book 6) And JK always surprise us, though. The title is always about the central thing, the most important in the book, what makes up the backbone of the plot, so we will have to just wait and see, won't we?

Personally I liked David Letterman's suggestion: "Harry Potter and the End of Trees."

I think the last chapter in book 7 will be called "The man who lived."

I go for
HARRY POTTER AND THE DOOM OF THE HEIR

Oh and I very much like "The man who lived", as last chapter name, although I doubt Harry will survive, SORRY!
